This is going to be a long season

Even a draw next week and it's a very poor start to the season. 5 points from first 8, over a season that's just 20 points from 32 games so you're staring relegation in the face. There will also be far tougher blocks of 8 games this season when you think Villa and Arsenal are the only two who'll finish top half.

After October break it's three aways at the Swamp, West Ham and Palace and one home v Brighton so could easily be three losses there.

For some reason this team can't hack it at Goodison. Look far more threatening in attack away from home.

Luton got Burnley at home on Tuesday so a huge chance for back to back wins and we know from experience that can really boost a teams mentality in a tight relegation battle.

Without a shadow of a doubt they'll go down on about 27 points.

This team isn't getting up to 27 points losing every week at home though....

Home run up to February is this....Bournemouth, Brighton, Man. United, Chelsea, Newcastle, Man. City and Villa.

The odd win and a couple of battling draws is the best I can come up with there and by then they'll only be about 15 games left and endless six pointers.

We're in massive trouble mate.

I was cautioning people before this game that we are still relegation fodder but the two wins deceived them.

We are without a doubt - and despite all the hard luck stories of not taking chances - one of the worst 4 teams in this PL.

There's no courage in this squad, and the manager is deluded calling it a matter of 'details'.

I was hoping that we’d kick on now from the decent results we’ve had last week. Team showed its true colours today, and I think this is the year we finally go. Don’t worry about Dyche going either. There is no one to replace him, the club is broke and the owner has lost interest. Project Sunderland is going to be completed.

Sheffield United. Luton. Burnley. Bournemouth. Us.

Three of those teams will go down guaranteed and it’ll be fine lines again.

From what is seen so far we will need a lot of favours throughout.

Bournemouth not won yet so think we can already predict next week's outcome. They've played all of Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Brighton in their first 7 games so in fairness they haven't had that many "winnable" games but will certainly be targeting next weekend when they watch the tape and see what Luton did first half.
O’Neil will outwit Dyche. It won’t take anything particularly clever, they’ll just take a short corner and Sean won’t have thought about how to defend that. Or maybe a quickly taken free kick. If he’s adventurous possibly a quick throw in. We’ll concede early, Bournemouth will sit deep and score a second on the break in the last minute to lose 2-0.
Dyche will say we were ‘outdone in key moments’ and that he is ‘trying to change the story’ and ‘it will take time.’

O-Neill manages wolves and he already has.

I said it at half time, win today and we wouldve gone 6 points clear of a relegation zone of 3 teams with no money to strengthen in January, no big players to come back from injury, and with only 1 point from their first 6/7 games. The worst bottom 3 since PL began.
Not even exaggerating to say we wouldve been all but safe already.
And snotterpicker sets us up at home like that against a team full of division 2 footballers.
Dyche's a complete dinosaur and if you honestly think "he kept us up last year" or "he's the right man for Everton" then you're stuck in the early 90s.

Even if we beat the buttom five teams away from home (ignoring now Shef United) that’s only 15 points so 19 in total. That’s a big assumption as well. We’re the other 15-16 going to come from? We’ve missed out on 12 points already at home to the worst teams in the league. It’s difficult to see how we survive this season after wasting such ann easy initial fixture list.
