Whether Leeds are involved in the relegation battle or not all depends on tonight. I do think they will win as they seem to find a way. But really palace are a better side and are at home and on that basis should be winning this.

If Leeds lose then we have 4 games where we have to make 4 points on them where they have 3 games playing City and Chelsea at home and arsenal away. That is very doable and will put us in a position going into the last few fixtures where its in our hands. But that is all dependant on what happens tonight first. A draw tonight for Leeds also keeps them in it but if they lose they are right back in it.

sad how we’re relying on others when let’s be honest not one has gone our way!

if burnley win saturday we aren’t clawing 5 points back

Your right that recently the other results haven't gone our way. But in the last few months or so they generally have gone our way and its been a bit of a miracle how we hadn't been in the relegation zone earlier than this.

Not buying any talk Palace will have switched off or will mail it in tonight. They are on 37, which isn’t safe. Yes, they will get the points needed at some point but it is motivation to get them tonight and have nothing to worry about.

Plus 9-15 is tightly cramped and there will be a lot of pride in finishing top half. Palace will feel they have had a pretty good season and will be looking for a league position that reflects that- 14th or 15th probably not a position they’d be happy with. No way they are mailing it in with 6 games to play.

Fingers crossed anyway.
Didn't seem to be much pride for wolves or Southampton against Burnley unfortunately

Apart from the financial implications I'd say it might do you some good to go down and rebuild but I have no idea what that will do to you. In terms of the playing squad it'd be a good opportunity to have a bit of an overhaul but the Championship is a bitch to get out of as I can testify for (a decade in total including dripping to league 1)

Whatever happens you'll still have your club and all you really can do is carrying on supporting as much as it hurts. I'm not meaning to sound patronising but I do really feel for you and I'm rooting for you stay up, preferably at the expense of Leeds

The financial situation/Rules are the main kick in the teeth but as you say potential root and branch review of the board and parasites on big wages being moved on would be a useful long term by-product of if we did drop.

I also think it would humble our fanbase to have 1-2 seasons in the Championship. Since Moshiri came in our fans have understandably craved instant success but I think we're too far gone and its spilled over into jumping on managers and players backs after 5 minutes which has helped lead us down the road of hire and fire.

Mykolenko is a perfect example - young kid moving from a pub league to the strongest league in the world, learning a new culture, language and part of a new squad with the invasion of Ukraine in the back of his mind and certain "fans" of ours are slagging the kid off after 2-3 games.

They get on the backs of all our upcoming players. All of them deemed not good enough. Morons.

here's my current thoughts on relegation. I say current because it always seems to change.

I was angry after the Norwich defeat, Depressed after Newcastle away, Feeling sorry for my self after City at home, resigned after Burnley away and now entering a stage of acceptance.

I know Esk and all the other financial types say it's suicide and the worlds end but it may not be too bad.
I think it will force the clubs hand to have a massive clear out.
I think it will see the end of Kenwright and several of his acolytes.
Unfortunately that might include Ferguson, who is in the same boat as Unsworth for me.
I actually hope they keep DBB as I think she's done a reasonably good job so far.

So we head in to the 22/23 season with a new chairman and some new board members. An ambitious young manager and DoF, both who know the championship, BMD still on track and lots of deadwood players moved on.

As for the playing side of things, I'd say Pickford, Allan, Richarlison, Delph, Gomes, Keane, Mina, Dele, VDB, Tosun and possibly DCL, Doucoure, and holgate will all move on. There's probably about 100m plus and no need to spend big on incoming transfers.
Of all of those players definitely leaving, only Pickford and Dele stay if we stay up.
I'm not sure what the deal is with Sigurdsson.

That leaves a first team of Begovic, Patterson, Brantwaith, Godfrey, Mykolenko, Davies, Iwobi, Townsend, Gray, Gordon, Rondon. With a backup team of Lonergam (or new young keeper), Coleman, Kenny, Nkonku, Warrington, Price, Onyango, Simms, Dobbin

All that is without including DCL, Doucoure or Holgate. I've a feeling, after this disaster of a season, DCL won't get the move he wants to a big side and might be convinced to play one season in the championship to find his form again.

That first team is just missing a good defensive midfielder and possibly a better striker.
The squad is missing some center halves and holding midfielders.
I'm sure lots of the top PL teams will be looking to loan players not getting a shot to Everton in the championship where they pose no threat.
I'm also sure Lampard will be a draw for young players.

So there you are.
- Stadium still on track.
- New chairman and board members moving away from the kenwright era.
- Good young manager and DoF still at the club
- Sell 100m plus of players to help with financial hit.
- Left with a good young hungry first team and some good squad players
- Actually might be able to create a winning mentality and build momentum hopefully for promotion.

All that said, I'd still rather stay in the premier league obviously but we'd still lose our south american players, still have kenwright at the top of the heap and be battling for the glory days of coming 7th and winning nothing.

Maybe in my mid 50’s I’ve mellowed, but relegation will be the start of rebuilding the club on and off the pitch. We’ve been left behind by so many of our peers.

United want Branthwaite and I think Godfrey may leave too.

Im not sure Gomes will go. Also not sure if Keane would go. Here’s hoping West Ham take him. Holgate? Don’t know.

we would definitely need some CB/CM additions.

Come on Palace, do us a solid tonight please. Leeds could be our best chance of staying up this season.

Possibly but that shouldn't be too hard.
I do think the biggest thing we need is for Moshiri to step back from the day to day running of the club.
I think this new DoF might put an end to that.
The managerial hunt was one of the most embarrassing episodes in a while and that's saying something.

edit, no way Branthwaite starts for united. Everton first team in the championship or United bench maybe, I think he stays.
