Arsenal will be fighting like caged lions on Sunday to beat us… just on the off chance that Norwich can scrape a shock win against Spurs.

We draw against Palace and realistically we are gone.

Villa fan (respects Everton FC).

Been in this position now a few times unfortunately and circling the plug hole was
an annual scenario in Lerner's last few years at the Villa.
Everton like Villa are probably the most like for like clubs in terms of history, stature
and support you could pair together.

You ain't going down this season on Villa's watch,it's down to your "Grand Old Club"
to get over the line.
Get it Done EFC.
Thanks for your kind and encouraging words mate. The blue half of Liverpool has an immense amount of respect for the biggest club in the Midlands.

Because Leeds will beat what is a poor Brentford outfit.

We were completely dominating Brentford until the sending off.

And Burnley are up against teams who have nothing to play for, including an inconsistent Villa side who play well one week and poorly the next.

They’re all just completely baseless assumptions, Leeds have picked up 1 point and scored 2 goals in their last 5 games. Brentford, a poor outfit, smashed Chelsea 4-1 at their own ground and are on a run of 1 defeat in 7. Burnley just got battered by Villa at home, and Newcastle who have nothing to play for have just pumped Arsenal. So no, “realistically” we aren’t gone if we draw against Palace.

Why would the Premier League and Sky want us to be relegated? We bring in more revenue for them than Burnley or Leeds. If you think the game is corrupted to that level why do you bother with it? I wouldn't. The reason we are near the bottom of the league is that we are not very good, to put it mildly. The Rondon tackle was a straight red. He admitted it himself in his apology after the game. If it had been in reverse I would have been apopleptic if there was no red card. It was an idiotic challenge and 100% deserved a red card.
We are a huge thorn in the side of the ‘big 6’ and their plans for a European Super League.

Brentford only managed to beat us because of atrocious officiating and they were nowhere near as good as some people make out. And they went down to 2-1 at HT whilst having an extra man on the pitch. All Leeds have to do is keep their cool and tighten up at the back. If they can do that they'll win.

Us however, we have to face a Crystal Palace side with a depleted, fatigued squad whilst they have a near full strength squad to choose from. And you can absolutely be in no doubt that Arsenal away is a guaranteed loss.
You’re right. We are in big trouble.

But if the crowd is up for it we can overcome the odds on Thursday night.

The results needed to send us down are perfectly plausible at this stage though. That's the difference. All it would take now would be something like this....

Everton 1 1 Palace
Villa 1 1 Burnley
Burnley 1 0 Newcastle
Brentford 1 2 Leeds
Arsenal 2 0 Everton

Those are all extremely plausible results.

That's why winning our home game on Thursday is so important. I don't think anyone can see these players getting a result at the emirates, nevermind under huge pressure. Relying on others is a terrible place to be.
Agreed. Sadly. ?

It’s quite feasible that if we get a draw on Thursday that we will go down.

Arsenal fans are fuming after last night's result, even greater pressure to win their last home game and put on a performance no matter they've blew 4th.

Ultimately the worst 3 teams over the season get relegated. If we are in that group we deserve to go. We can cry about penalties not given and refs being terrible and media being bias but it doesn’t matter a jot. Worst 3 teams go down
I don’t understand your logic.

Let’s say we’ve only lost five points due to decisions by officials that were wrong…. those five points would put us above Southampton and it guarantees our survival.

we're joint third in being awarded the most pens in the league and we're a team that has struggled to make chances in front of goal. the more possession you have in the opponent's area and attacking threat you pose should be showing in those numbers. the city one stands out, will probably decide the title and hopefully not our safety but it happens to everyone in the table.
