I've been watching the History Channel this week, when you hear the first hand accounts of the horror and the hell that these lads went through it becomes almost impossible to convey your grattitude and admiration for every single man and boy gave their lives for us.

It is beyond comprehension at the conditions faced by mnay. In particular the 1st world war should truly have been the war to end all wars. Young men, all killed, maimed or damaged for the sake of political gains. A shocking state of affairs.

lets also not forget the ones who have made the ultimate sacrifice fighting another mans war as well, even if we disagree with them being there.

R.I.P.

I agree (y)

On a side note, something like 10 million horses were killed in battle in the first world war. Shocking statistic and one that sends shivers down my spine.

They had like the generals little comprehension of the conditions or turned a blind eye. It remains with us, our armed forces have been called in the last decade to engage in 2 conflicts, (our Government does not like to call them wars) for which they were inadequately equipped resulting in needless loss of life.

I had no relatives in WW1 but my father and uncles all fought in WW2, they all survived!:)

Total an utter Respect to all the armed forces past an present.

R.I.P to all that have lost their lives fighting so we can live in peace!

You will never be forgotten.
