Lads, I searched but couldn't find anything similar, unless it's in the CA title... However, this season seems to be a bit of a first in results re the so-called 'Top Six'...

Winning at Analfield, obviously, 4 points, winning at the Arse for the first time in how long and doing the double, 6 points, also, 4 points from the Spuds etc but points per game v those teams must be at an all-time high for many years if someone has the stats? Good times under CA me thinks... ;)

I don’t get the obsession with beating top 6 if we lose to the bottom 6. 3 points are 3 points
The only positive from it is taking points in 6 pointer games, and ending those annoying statistics like not ever winning at the Emirates...etc
However, we lost twice to Newcastle :(

....there has been a stigma getting anything from those places, so surely it’s got be a major psychological lift going forward.

I fret less about losing twice to Newcastle because we deserved to lose both games (and Fulham at home). It’s about finding a way to win those games.

I find that we can now compete with those teams, but need to find a way of beating the lesser teams that setup shop not to lose against us, which we used to do in years gone by...

If you can't beat those teams, you're never progressing past a certain point in the table. Even the best teams are only so consistent against the bottom half.

But it's correct to say that three points are three points - if you don't take care of business against the bottom half, beating top half teams isn't going to get you where you want to go either.

We have lost 7 at home. 5 of those against teams below us in the table and lets face it - should be beaten. If we had won those 5 games we would be sitting VERY comfortably in 2nd place!

Massive opportunity missed this season. And would we have won all those away games if fans had been present??

The fact that we have competed with them teams this season speaks volumes, as some of the records against them were frankly embarrassing.

Enough has been said about our record against the lower teams, but you'd expect that to come right once we add a bit more quality and don't need to keep relying on poor standard back up players. If we can keep a similar record against the teams above us next season, you'd like to think we will be up there near the end of the season.

Because Carlo has ended a load of hoodoos in his first full season. Something none of our previous managers have been able to do since the 90s. We know we can beat the crap sides, but we were not mentally capable of beating the scum 6. That is not the case anymore.

We've beaten top 6 sides plenty of times over the past 5 or so years, just never away from home.

We managed to switch that narrative this season but it was in empty stadiums which to be perfectly honest doesn't really make it much of an away game

Same for every team mate. Would we have lost all those home games if fans had been present?
