Retiring ref Poll hits out at FA

Have a look at Poll's protestations and let me know what you think. It hurts me to say it but he may well have a point although, not surprisingly, he totally ignores his own short comings when making his gripes

Referees are professionals, or so they say. When they get things wrong, they should be criticised as other professionals are, especially if they get things wrong on a regular basis such as Poll.

Who's he to say he should be "invincible" from any criticism? Which as far as I can see, is what he's preaching the FA should have ensured.

Theres only so much defending you can do, they actually defended him after he embarrassed his country at the World Cup. What more does he want?

Ive got nothing but absolute contempt for the odious [Poor language removed]!

He's gotten away with absolute murder for years and they've backed him to the hilt, but the spoilt [Poor language removed] starting to think he was always right because referees' integrity is always taken for granted and they are never properly punished for incompetence.

I have no doubt john terrys side of things was a lot nearer the truth, and poll actually see's dealing with an implied attitude and arrogance of the chelsea millionaires as part of his 'watch'.

another thing that bothers me about referee's, and this was pointed out by someone last season, why, if a referee is inept is he demoted to the championship? Why should them poor fuckers be left to rue idiotic decisions by the likes of uriah rennie etc, if they are not up to it, sack 'em, [Poor language removed] them off, there must be thousands of people willing to referee premier games why is it such a closed shop!!
