Bruce Wayne

Player Valuation: £100m
There I was in the pub at the weekend with the lady and her brother and they had the Scotland game on. Half time came, and there was Richard Gough (apparently). What the feck is going on with his hair??

Was an absolutley immense player for us back in the day.

Hair like that shouldnt be worn with a pink shirt though, wait till Archie Knocks gets a hold of him.

"Immense"? The Echo's favourite as I remember. MOM award for stepping out on the pitch. In reality Dunne got him out of the [Poor language removed] on numerous occasions. He was bigged up by his Masonic mate Smith and everyone fell for it. He was just ok.

Thought he was a class apart myself.

A class apart in self publicity. I lost count how many times his interviews lapsed into third person analysis of his own game: "It's not about Goughy, it's a team game and we all want to win here"; "People say Richard Gough has come in and done a job for Everton. If that's the case that's gratifying". Complete fraud that the local media perpetrated. The Don Hutchison affair highlighted that. (n)

What does his style in talking to the media have to do with how well he played for us - its all opinion i guess.

I gave up listening to player interviews a long time ago - Phil Neville case in point.

I thought he done a sterling job for us when we were a [Poor language removed] team.

Got a lot of time for him personally, would have liked to have had him 7/8 years earlier.

He was one of the best CD in the country when he was with Spurs, no question. Living off his reputation when he got here though. We shouldn't lose sight of where we actually plucked him from: Forest. He'd sunk to that Championship level in reality and only Smith gave him the chance to play in the top flight again. As I say, not a bad buy under the circumstances. Immense? Not for me. Just an ok veteran player with great PR skills.

He's a confuser.

If you saw him from behind in tight jeans, you'd probably think "I would" - what with him keeping himself in shape and that, and that floppy hair.

Then he turns round and gurns at you, gutted.
