died today at the age of 89.

if anybody has not come across his work i highly recommend 'One Day In The Life Of Ivan Denisovich'. it is highly readable and very interesting. one of my all time favourite authors.

Is this the guy who wrote Gulag archipelago? if so he had a awful time as one of Stalins "special guests"
