I made my mind up a few weeks ago that I wanted him out. I'm made up that we beat Chelsea and we are into an FA Cup Semi Final. There is nothing wrong with wanting Everton to win the cup, whilst at the same time thinking Martinez isn't the right man to take us forward. I want Everton to win every week but I expect the manager to be judged over the course of the season and in Martinez's case, the last two.

Are there positives? yes. Martinez has built a team of young exciting players. Lukaku, Deulofeu, Besic have been good signings, one of them great. He has given players like Barkley and Stones a chance, when other managers would have played mediocre older players. There are times when the football we play is fantastic on the eye. I think he gets Everton and the School of Science.

But, Everton isn't just all out the School of Science. If you know your history you also know that its about the Dogs of War, Dave Hickson "I’d break every bone in my body for any club I play for but I’d die for Everton", and the 80s side that had steal and skill. When Necastle fans say that they would rather lose 4-3 than win 1-0, we look at them like they are simple. You also know about a Mike Walker side that despite being pleasing on the eye, could not defend.

Today was the first time in years that I have walked out early. Not that bad, it was into added time but I left early and that's not like me. But the players are paid good money to give a toss and today it didn't seem like they did. They didn't look to be hurting at 2-0 down, there was no urgency, taking all the time in the world to take throw ins. They just wanted to get off the pitch, pretty much from when the second half kicked off. That is not acceptable.

Do you think the players were worried about the rollicking at half or full time? Its like kids misbehaving in a class with a weak teacher.

There is lots to like about Martinez but losing 8 at home this season, having one of the worst defensive records in Europe and having a team that think the season is over and that they can produce "that", is the sign of a weak manager.

He says the right things and comes across as a nice guy. We have turned into team that is nice to play against. I would get rid now.

I'd be more inclined to be worried that decent Evertonians like yourself have given up.

People havn't given up mate, we're just not surprised when we see a performance like today.

Personally I believe Martinez will continue to develop the squad, but if we doesn't improve our league form, someone else will come in, apply the final polish to that squad and do what's necessary to turn a good squad into a team that wins more matches than we're currently doing.

With this squad as it stands we should be doing better, I'm not talking top four, but much better than we are at the moment. If we'd drawn a couple of top teams in the early rounds of the League and FA Cup and got knocked out months ago, then the pressure on Martinez would be huge. As it is, we're two games from winning a trophy, and I think he's actually capable of getting two really good performances from this team and doing it. Therein lies the problem, he does lots of things right, but utlimately it's about winning games, and not just in the cups.

Bit scattergun isn't it. We've got the best squad ever being wasted but they also want to spend a hundred million replacing them
I can understand frustration, of course. But I think if I were in their shoes I'd just accept that their viewpoint isn't shared by those who make decisions and that one man's 'disastrous season' is another man's not bad season if you take the whole of it and not just the league into account.

You'd think we'd been sweeping up cups for years instead of being also rans. At least martinez has put us into a decent position to get a trophy, and if he gets a shot at a final he wont hide behind the couch like Moyes did.

Martinez brought them in mate.

If you'd like to see who Eddie Howe can attract, be my guest.

Thats his speciality, bringing in players, getting them to win games is his problem, that why he should take a sideways move within
the club, know your strengths and weaknesses he is massively out of his depth.

Spot on. There's no fear factor in that set of players of thinking if they play bad they will be dropped. He's a lightweight manager, brilliant at all the soundbites but painfully short at delivering results required.

Eight games lost at Goodison, three more at home to play, very scarey,Christ I thought it was bad under Mike Walker, like I say very scarey, something needs to be done real quick.
