Everton and Norwich =16th on 30 points if you strip out Romelu Lukaku's goals from our season (8 points less, some goals in games we lost or won by several).
Oh I see. I meant more about not expecting this season to be going as Well as it has.

Lads, lads. We've heard all this new manager talk for about 18 months. What makes you think midtable and two cup SFs is the basis for a different outcome?

I know that some of you tend to post when we get beat and think you have to strike while the iron is hot to stir up a lynch mob, but really, it's not happening. Not now. Not in the summer. Maybe next autumn if the start to next season is bad...and even then only if we fail to left the cup this season.

That ^^^ is as close to reality as you can get imo.
LOL Dave, seriously mate.

What makes you think it's not literally only a cup run that is holding the lynch mob back at this point? And with knowing that fact, you realise what will happen if we were to unfortunately lose out in that SF right?

...oh yeah, that'll be why Martinez came along and used them to get a record 72 points out of them the season after he left.

Added to what was missing. The foundations were there.

Martinez has pulled those foundations down and is unable to compete in the league.

...it's holding back?

Lol.

I hadn't noticed.

Mosyt of the lynch mob, btw, goes back in the box after the next win.

Plus ca change.

You keep asking the same thing, so I'll repeat the same answer to this question:

We have a new owner who has invested nearly £200m. That in itself indicates that he isn't willing to settle for mediocrity. The old regime no longer holds the power. You also look at the situation in a very superficial manner. People who have millions invested and actually run the club will look more deeply than 'midtable and 2 SF's'. Semi finals mean nothing unless you win the cup. We've had one semi final and were soundly beaten. We've yet to play the other semi. They'll consider the atmosphere within the team itself and Martinez's limitations will be placed under more scrutiny because we've conceded more goals than anyone else. They'll note the large number of home defeats and small number of home wins as well as the fan disquiet at EVERY home game and worry about season ticket sales for next year.

I could go on, but I think I've comprehensively answered your shallow question.

...oh yeah, Moyes was ultimately responsible for it wasn't he? I keep on forgetting that.

Pity he didn't get 72 points when he was here with them then.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez calls their 2-0 home defeat by Arsenal the "worst performance of our season" and says the Toffees looked "confused" without banned midfielder Gareth Barry.

You've stoically shouldered the burden. Hats off. It takes something to shake a colossus of even temperament and balanced viewpoint like you.
