Damning stat, the evidence points to Martinez getting 5th, heavily being down to the well drilled talented team Moyes handed him, Martinez when given time has made us worse, there is no denying that, it's there for all to see.

Consistently in and around the top 6 year after year to now this.

It's plane to see alright. But you still get people using it to defend Martinez. But even if you bend your mind to pretend it's nothing to do with a drilled defence it was still 3 seasons ago!! Seriously how long can some people keep citing it irregardless of the drilled defence. It can't be used next season surely.

Squeezing another 7 points out to put on top of Moyes' best ever points total...with HIS players, is the very definition of getting those players to perform to a level greater than the sum of their parts.

That type of all encompassing terminology sounds good, but it doesn't stand up to any rigorous testing.


Why do you talk about 'consistency' then do the very opposite in your appraisal? If you're looking for consistency in this feller's Everton career you use all three seasons he's been here.

What is the point of this 72 points trophy thing? It was still 5th for god sake 5th nothing more nothing less. Moyes got 4th with a crap squad. And I said this again, look at the squad Martinez inherited from in comparsion with Moyes. I tell you what 21 wins out of 67 since August 2014. It's non-defendable. Look where Martinez had got Everton to? 11th last season and where are we about to finish in May 2016? 12th? So stop using the 72 points trophy as an excuse. It was 2 years ago. Face the reality and our current issue. Everton has regressed.

All 3 reasons okay. 5th - 11th - and where we are we about to finish 12th?? What does this trend tell us? And it is not a myth that Martinez has much more resources than Moyes.

If you think finishing 5th and 15th is the same and Martinez is perfect and our current regression has nothing to do with him, sorry I think you are a supporter of Martinez FC not Everton FC.
