Roberto Martinez discussion

When did everyone turn against Martinez?
We have been playing decently enough and have had some bag luck with injuries.
Think he definitely deserves more time this season, even though I was so unhappy with him last season.

December will probably see Leicester slip down the league. They're actually going to have to play some top 8 sides.

This comeback kings thing is slightly annoying as they are having to come back against some absolute gash, when a half decent team would never be needing to that on such a regular basis. When they played a top team (Arsenal) they flapped it once they equalised. They'll slip eventually im certain.

INB4 THEY DONT AND I LOOK LIKE A FOOL.

Can't fault their ability to beat bottom half sides, currently and their ability to bounce back.

They will be found out eventually though. Happens to everyone who goes on a run like this who isn't a money club with a big squad. WBA were smashing everyone for a while when they had Lukaku I remember and finished 10th.

Still, there's a decent possibility of a top half finish there for them, which would be a great achievement. Especially after having a forced(?) change of management half way through.

EDIT: Apologies for off topic. Martinez is ace.

So that's that established then. You want Harry Redknapp or Tim Sherwood to be manager of Everton.

I dont think they should be, tbh. But everyone's entitled to their choice.

Just dealing in facts dave, you can't argue with them.

And the fact show that the aformentioned 5 managers are all more successful than Roberto Martinez.

I just can't understand why any Evertonian wouldn't want a successful manager like them at the club.

Sherwood more successful than Martinez. Ok. L O l

I don't know how you judge success but winning the PL title (which is THE yardstick according to your mate davek) which Martinez never did and winning more games as a manager makes him more successful.

And he never got relegated.

Sherwood laughs at Martinez. Lets face it, you have to be able to back it up when you have his dress sense.

The fact remains that regardless of what Martinez achieves with us there will be a section of our fan base who will immediately attack this man as someone who is 'not good enough' for Everton when things aren't going well.

We've picked up 13 points from 10 which isn't terrible considering who we played. In fact, it's better than we usually started under Moyes.

Did people treat Moyes the same way when he finished 16th in his second season or 11th in his fourth season? I don't remember them doing that.

I don't understand why some people keep complaining about Martinez. He's here to stay for at least another 3 years. So deal with it. Your constant useless complaining isn't going to get him sacked.

You don't understand ? Really? Yes, barring a serious threat of relegation or a takeover he is going to be here for the long term. It is likely that he will have been here 5 years in total before the situation is looked at. But do you seriously expect nobody to voice their concerns about his selections and tactics when results aren't going well ? People aren't complaining in an effort to get him sacked - they are complaining because they want their team to be winning football matches.

We are not a religious cult. We are EFC and Everton managers always have and will continue to be held to account by the supporters. They will know all about it if the fans aren't happy, even when there is no immediate threat to a managers position. Moyes getting booed for making unnecessary defensive substitutions is an example of this - it didn't mean that his job was under threat.

The questioning of the manager will go on while we continue to ship goals, come out looking half-arsed about the game, and play slow pedestrian football. Some of his most ardent fanatics need to deal with that.

Sherwood more successful as a manager, LOL.

How many trophies has he won as a manager?

Give him time mate, i'm pretty sure given his short yet successful career so far it won't be too long.

He's already reached a cup final (and lost to an Arsenal team who wanted to win it for their manager, the opposite of Man City in 2013) and won a higher percentage of games than Martinez.
