Does anyone remember this short lived Granada series circa 1995ish - which focused on certain year everyweek (usually one in which everton did knob all)

Although the shi*e,Manure and even City got the lions share of coverage there was the odd Everton gem in there.

In one episode I seem to remember them featuring the cup derby when Imre Varadi scored and got a meat-pie in his mush for it - and Anders Limpar did a little piece on the show trying to crack on Imre was one of his childhood heroes (some people will do anything to get on the telly)!!

I think Ive still got a few episodes on video somewhere have to root them out sometime -

Yeah , I remeber it . It did have the great Villa games , 77/78 I think , and a couple of others ; a red/black striped city , bell, marsh, lee,etc on a Boxing Day . One of me Nan's favourite games , as it happens .
On the whole though, I preferred the BBC version , Danny Baker . Can't recall the title . More extensive coverage ( of us ).
As for Anders , he was a Blue as akid . I used to know an Aresnal fan who told me that not long after he joined them .
I also met him on Old Hall Street , the day before he left . He was wearing wooden , " european " , clog-things . With socks . So much for scandinavian chic .
If only for the Kanchelskis derby , and there was much more , he's alright .

The BBC version with Danny Baker - was "Match of the eighties" - continuing on from Dennis Waterman's - match of the seventies..., and I agree it was better made and featured far more Everton (which had to be expected of course) - One major niggle with it was the fact it ended at 1985-86 season, probably due to t.v rights to the games - so we missed evertons second championship of the decade.:(
