Romelu Lukaku

I can see it becoming a ratcheting clause, the closer it gets to the start of the season/end of the transfer window the higher the clause gets.

But for me the deal has to go through before the date not just the bid. Not sure what the exact dates of the window are but something like this:

Before 5 July : £75 million
Before 20 July : £80 million
Before 1 August : £85 million
£90 million thereafter.

Here you go, finally found it somewhere:

Looks like he is taking the piss out of the interviewer from that.

If he keeps scoring, a big offer will come in this summer. I actually amazed he's been here as long as he has. Two poor international tournaments and last season's sulk area the reason for that. Having said that we have, shown ambition in the transfer market and with bringing Koman in. Maybe he is happy here and wants a good season running up to the World Cup, without the risk of moving?

Only thing with that is, what's the point in having £90m to spend with a week or so of the window to go? We'd never be able to spend it (wisely at least), fans would still be furious and the board would get hammered for selling to balance the books (whether true or not). If there is to be a release clause it should be one figure, take it or leave it. We should be in control...

Does anyone have the stats on who provided the assists for lukaku goals and how many he created himself
Thats the problem. Assist will go down to the last player to touch from same team directly before the goal. So say Williams lays a 10 yard ball to Rom in his own half, he then runs half length of field beating 2 men before slotting, Williams gets credited with an assist.

Another example. Barks picks ball up outside own box, runs length of pitch skipping past 3 players in process before putting in fantastic ball into the box. Ball cut out by some last ditch defending, falls gto Rom 5 yards out who slots. . No assist.

Stats for assists dont always tell full story.

Ah storm in a teacup that. Questions entered "no comment" territory and he just stonewalled by saying no to everything.

Unless we shore up the Striker position before then.

The type of cash being bandied about for Lukaku now means it'll be seriously considered by the Everton board. With a new stadium to probably fund they're going to have to sell in order to hand this manager a transfer budget. Any offer approaching £70m will severely rest them.
