Can anyone see him renewing? - Alex Ferguson leaves either this year (If they win the league) or the next.

Way I understand it is, the clauses in his contract to Man Utd (him renewing = cash, silverwear wins = cash, a percentage of any fee after the first £25mill if sold) was all traded away in the deals that brought Nev and Howard.

I don't ever remember united being so dependent on one player though.

I mean, they've had a pretty crap start to the season for them, and Rooney's not been playing or not been playing well. Surely not a coincidence?

Rooney on form though, turns united into a team that could beat anyone and you wouldn't be surprised.

25% on any profit that Man Utd had paid Everton to date.

Everton have also negotiated a 25% 'sell-on' agreement, under which they would receive a quarter of any excess sum over all amounts paid in this agreement.
