Now I'm not usually a fan of old bands reforming, but this would be awesome

They were good in their day, mate

But plenty of water has passed under the bridge since then.

The only band that old people should play in is Hawkwind, and that is because the group never actually splits up (it just changes).

Thanks Neb, now I have to dig out my old Hawkwind records as Silver Machine is stuck in my head.

I like the Roses as well though, Stone and Cadbury

As Howie will tell you, you should never go back. The Smiths et al were great in their time but their time has passed now. I can't think of any band that has continued to produce outstanding music across the generations. Even the likes of the Stones and Dylan produced by far their best music in the late 60's/early 70's. Their later output hasn't been too good.
