Ross Barkley joins Chelsea, er, Villa on loan

Got to agree that he has quality, no doubt about it. Just think his own application to being a top player lets him down.

Imo, any Everton player coming though during the last 5/6 years at the club dont have the right attitude. The culture in the dressing room is shocking. It'd be wrong to isolate Barkley in that respect, because he is a product of is environment. He's come through at a time of turmoil when loafers and tankers ran the roost in the first team. If he'd come through a few years earlier when pros like Cahill, Arteta, Carsley and even Neville were there his work ethic and attitude would have been much better. Unfortunately he came through when utter piss-takers and Quislings like Jagielka, Mirallas and Baines ran the show.

Very true mate. Even though his football skillls were'nt the best, Neville always had a fantastic work ethic imo. I wasnt singling Barkley out, but his attitude does, and will , let him down

Chelsea (3-4-2-1) Jamie Cumming; Josh Grant (c), Richard Nartey, Marc Guehi; Reece James, Luke McCormick, Conor Gallagher (Ruben Sammut 77), Juan Castillo; Ross Barkley (George McEachran 63), Harvey St Clair; Daishawn Redan (Charlie Brown 73)
Unused subs Karlo Ziger, Callum Hudson-Odoi

LOL

found his level... and got subbed !

Capt Jags might be “a piss taker and a quisling” but he has incomparable leadership qualities. For those of us with an ironic/sardonic/masochistic/black comedic bent (i.e. most Evertonians), Capt Jags is a totem.
