Lineker was much better in a blue shirt than Gazza ever was.We as evertonians have had on our books the three greatest ever english footballers produced, Gazza, Rooney and Barkley and if Mr. Kenwright can keep his job for a couple more years...............when he sells Ross to City, he will in fact oversee the completion of selling the Crown Jewels, then , will people finally realise that he is no more an Evertonian than Mr. Moyes was. I know Gazza came Ten years too late, I know Ferguson Ruined Rooney on the left wing. Give Roberto two years with Ross, and if Roberto can't do what he promises, then let Ross go with our good wishes.

Greatest footballers are made that way by being consistent over a period of time imo and sadly Gazza's internal struggles stopped him from doing that.
Ha, well imo he was best shirtless and in very skimpy shorts but regardless on his clothing he managed to hit the back of the net more often than notI figured you were more focussed a little lower on the fella...
Rooney was a more consistent version of Barkley really. They were both fantastically strong, two footed technically gifted footballers but I think Rooney has far better mental attributes. I don't remember him having quiet or bad games for us and carried an enormous burden on his shoulder at such a young age.
Barkley has the potential to be as good as Rooney though and has most of Rooeny's technical attributes.
Pembridge was a better player in a blue shirt than Gazza was!!!!!!Lineker was much better in a blue shirt than Gazza ever was.

at 17/18 I thought Rooney who was playing here was exceptional. Almost everything he did was positive and a breath of fresh air. Even starting for England gave an England side full of stars a lift. Remember Turkey?? He single handedly tore turkey at least 8 new arseholes. You only have to look at his goals for us to see how good the kid was at the time. To say defenders were bricking it for 90 minutes is too lightweight a statement. Also Rooney move on to a team with better players than we had, and Ross, due to injury hasn't really had the chances both on the international stage or domestic as of yet.
All in all I think this is a hard one to call.
