Ross Barkley

Is it the behaviour of an intelligent adult to be signing up to opposing clubs' forums and spending hours trying to convince people that, despite your lack of substantive evidence, your club will be purchasing their best player before long and that they're deluded for thinking otherwise?

He's derailing this thread chatting absolute poo, which is strange for such an urbane intelligent free thinker.

Its not a persecution complex mate, we all know he could be sold if a eye watering amount of money was put on the table. Its your insistance that he WILL be sold soon and he WANTS to go to City that is irking people. If a fan of another club come on one of your forums claiming that about one of your players, or our fans said it about another teams player then im sure you'd see the same reaction.

Yeah I can fully understand why that's frustrating. However it's also the truth of the matter right now. Kenwright is negotiating with City. Ultimately that to me suggests that City already know Barkley wants to come, as does Kenwright.

People going on about his signing the contract this summer are being spectacularly naive btw. IIRC he had two years to run on that contract. Had he not signed it, his value would've plummeted next summer and he'd have walked for a fraction of his true value. The contract protects Everton which is the kind of thing you'd expect Barkley to do because he grew up an Evertonian.

That's not true mate. We can spend what we like come next summer. The commercial revenue which the club brings in has put us in a position where FFP will be nothing more than a passing afterthought in the coming years.

You can hear it the tone of his quotes that something's going on. Very aggressive in terms of building a picture of "players need to be careful etc etc". Using the Owen to Madrid analogy. Talking about one club in particular to whom it doesn't matter whether a player has signed a contract or not.

I think City will end up signing minimum three top drawer players next summer. Reus is number 1 on their list. Looks like they don't want to miss out on Barkley either. 45 million sounds about fair in today's market. Lets see how he does for the remainder of the season and how his knees hold up.

Before anyone starts accusing me of being arrogant etc. I think Kenwright is going to sell, and certainly the people i've spoken to suggest he's already at the table negotiating.

No, you're completely wrong.

Why do you think City are desperate to expand their stadium and thus their revenue streams?

The only thing that is 'going on' is that City are constantly briefing the press about Barkley, fishing through the media to see if Barkley & his agent fancy it. They don't, everyone knows they don't. He's happy at Everton & he's seen what a graveyard City has been for English players. Stop deluding yourself.

We had people like you telling us how Baines was 'definitely going to Utd in the next transfer window' for 3 years solid. Wishful thinking B.S. Jog on lad.

He's not though, is he?

Where on earth are you getting this from?

You've just made it up, haven't you?
