There's nothing wrong with Ross,play him in his right position and give him the freedom to express himself and Ross will be boss.
I can't believe the stick this young lad is getting,try getting behind him and watch his confidence build !!

I'm not sure whether it's the stick he gets or the immense pressure he's getting put under. Martinez hasn't helped either with some of the things he's said. If he comes on as a sub in the derby you'll hear Goodison roar for him I think. This could be a game where he turns it round.

I'd start Naismith for the next two games then look to give Ross a game against Leicester.

Yeah this, best way, we need Naismith is his best position for the next two, Leicester is a much easier home game, good chance for Ross, who might even get a start at Young Boys perhaps a few days earlier.

He's the same as he was last season but been playing in a poor team and ultimately dropped into poor form himself. Oh and bar the the last couple of games has been playing out wide ffs!

So Yep let's stick the talented footballer on the bench to make room for the hard working, limited as Fook footballer who pops up with a goal every now and then....

It's the way he is mate. It's not something he does on purpose and decides from week to week whether he can be assed or not. He was the same last season yet everyone accepted it as his style because we were winning.

There's numerou other players the same. Arguably one of the best in the world EVER Zidane was the same.

He's never gonna run around being a pest like naismith. But he's gonna do things Naismith could never even dream of doing!

Depends which you prefer and i suppose which is needed for any particular game.

Would he need to or be expected to run around like naismith in city's team or Chelsea's or arsenals? Maybe we're just to sh!t to have a player like him

the lad has needed a rest for a while, best all round to use him a little less, get his form and confidence back.
One good thing with Lennon coming in he will not be stuck out wide, he will come good again., with playing in a more suited role and hopefully after a few wins less pressure on him.

Driving forward is his game and he has the talent to play out wide. For me he looks awful when he sits deeper. He can't control a game from so deep and if he has time to think he usually chooses the wrong option. Of course improvement will come with experience of the role but I don't see the point of dropping him so deep while he's so young. Liverpool didn't do it with Gerrard until his legs couldn't take it anymore. Why prepare him for a role he shouldn't be playing in for another 8-10 years.

All the City and especially Chelsea team have to work hard - that's why Schurlle was shipped out.

I must have also missed all these amazing Zidane things he's been doing too.

Its sad to see sterling come on and Barkley struggling. Hope the lad can sort himself out

Rodgers gave Sterling a holiday when it looked like he was heading the same way. Got him out of the firing line and away from the media now he's back and bossing games.

Rodgers took a lot of stick for that decision too however with the Europa League games etc coming up we can't afford to do that. One game will need to be enough. I do think the change of tactics will help.

Too much hype from martinez and the media at one point.

That's the problem with positivity that Martinez doesn't seem to understand. Too much and it can seem delusional and impossible to live up to which can be worse.

Stirling looks to be progressing well and Barkley is going backwards. These few games out will do him good. He needs to come back all guns blazing and raring to go.

I made the same points earlier on in the season and even mentioned the same player however I was wrong, Ross hasn't earned the right to play like that. Messi doesn't work hard today but he used to when he first entered the Barca team even when he was still their best player.

The reality is that right now Ross is both not good enough to not graft and if he has the aim of making it at the very best teams I don't think he'll ever will be good enough. Apart from Zidane how many other players have been?
