Ross Barkley

What we do know is that all the players in that squad were closer to the first team in the managers eyes, otherwise they'd be on loan and he'd be in the squad.

Don't think that follows. We know that Moyes considers it more beneficial for Ross to be on loan than for him to play reserves and league cup football and that he considers it more benefical for the squad we have playing reserve and league cup football to be doing that and not be on loan. That doesn't mean he thinks they're better than Ross.

He loaned out Coleman and not Baxter, a few years back.

He did, because he felt the players left behind where a better option for him at that point, not necessarily better players overall though.

Jack Wilshere went on loan to Bolton the season before last.

Francis Coquelin hasn't been out on loan.

Who do you think Wenger rates more?

Denilson was playing while Wilshere was on loan. I'm sure Wenger knew Wilshere would turn out to be the better player but at that point Denilson was a better option.

That's my point regarding Barkley. Wilshere goes out on loan to a decent Premier League club (at the time), whilst Barkley goes on loan to Championship relegation fodder.

Was he seriously not considered good enough for say Leeds, Cardiff or even someone like Middlesbrough - where Josh MacEachran currently is, for example.

I just don't understand... I dunno.

At the time of his Loan, Sheff Wed had a decent record and were sitting pretty high in the table, its only since hes joined that they have been getting dicked every game.
