Ross Barkley

Bit harsh on Barkley for the criticisms. against Chelsea. Yes he lost the ball in vital areas but there were 5 minutes left and we were throwing the kitchen sink at them. The very reason he was brought on was because he would try the extraordinary or exceptional things. If one of two of his fancylad tricks had come off it could have opened the space to win us the game. They're fine margins. He'll improve.

It isn't just tonight, though. It just compounds the fact he's barely been given a look-in at all in many, many games.

There has to be something Moyes doesn't like about him.

Completely correct. I'm not sure why this is so hard for some people to understand.

On Barkley very few of us have actually seen him for any length of time and are acclaiming him on ... well I don't know what tbh.

The cameos I've seen I haven't seen anything that supports the press cuttings if he was a world beater scoring for fun I'd understand but at the moment he's getting caught - on balance i support Moyes on this one.

But Moyes has played loads of players his age before. I mean a fair few.

Not for large amounts of time though? Centre midfield is a very hard position for a young lad to just get thrown into as well. I reckon if he was a wide player or something he would have got more time by now.

It aint a conspiracy lads. He isn't not been played so he's not cup tied for Man United's FA Cup run.

I'd have liked to see him play tonight, but he didn't. Oh well. Not the end of the world!

I'm pretty sure he'll be on loan by Feb, and will get his experience. He's got a long career ahead of him. With his injury history, maybe they're just wanting to wrap him up a bit - something both Moyes and Stubbs have said a fair few times. He's obviously got talent, but he isn't a world-beater. He was brought back from his loan for cover due to our injuries - and was kept on as cover over xmas.

As I said before, i'd have liked to have seen him tonight, but its not a big deal that he didn't play.

Chill x

I've answered that already. Read properly.

You could have pointed me in the direction of your reply, but thanks for the sanctimonious response anyway.

Now Ive found it , your answer made zero sense IMO as you've ignored what he will have got from the challenge of Chelsea & somehow think that a glorified training match in the cup would have added something to his career. I bet you've won 16 CL's on football manager you lid :)

I love it when people who start acting like t*ts then moan about being spoken to like a t*t.

So what was Ross going to learn at a league 2 side that was going to affect his development? You're talking out your pipe imo

Anyway, the following doesn't make sense?

[He would learn] movement and positioning alongside the first team set up. Building him up gradually, getting him used to expectations at the first team level.

I haven't ignored Chelsea at all; I think he should have been brought on against Chelsea and I don't think he did much wrong at all when he did come on. I'm pointing out the hypocrisy of him apparently being ready for Chelsea but not ready for Cheltenham.

Different players though. Rodwell was a dependable crab. Barkley is an attack minded player.

I'm just a tad dissappointed from a selfish point of view as i'd have loved to see him out there today. I can see why he wouldn't play him at CM as he does seem to take too many risks, but he'd be ok in the Fellaini role behind the striker where he could have some freedom
