Ross Barkley

First game of the season against a newly promoted team away from home, they will be incredibly pumped up for this. Possibly no Coleman, Barkley, Lukaku and Mirallas for the opener, not looking good at all mate. I'll actually be surprised if we beat them.
Coleman has been training since Tuesday. That might not be enough to get him a start given his interupted preseason but hopefully he'll be fit enough to do his showboating against Arsenal in a week.

The question remains, whodunnit? I reckon it was Besic, on the training ground, with the sharpened studs.

Coleman is faster than most professional players with one leg, I don't think it's going to take him much to get up to fitness. Maybe won't be fit for this weekend but he'll be at his best in no time.

Such a lengthy lay-off would be a major blow for Everton manager Roberto Martínez and would also impact on England’s European Championship qualifiers. Roy Hodgson’s team have a friendly against Norway on 3 September, their opening qualifier against Switzerland five days later and a qualifying double-header against San Marino and Estonia on 9 and 12 October respectively.

...every cloud....

Unbelievably bad luck but some of the reactions on here are a joke. All of a sudden we've got a s**t squad, we need to spend all sorts of money on another striker, and even people questioning Martinez not being able to play 2 upfront. Barkley didn't play every minute of every game last season, and we done fine.

Is right.

Martinez is the man to turn a disaster into Everton's greatest triumph.

In my view at any rate
Just said to Finners, 6 weeks out is better than 6 months out.

And it's all better that us selling him, which we didn't. He's temporarily injured, but he's still ours.

Its a squad game. If we let one player out end our season before it begins

What sort of team are we?

We've got to put up or shut up
