I wonder how he'll be received at Goodison when he returns with Spurs seeing as he rejected around a hundred grand a week to play for the team he apparently loves. I imagine there will be a lot of anger towards him and I completely understand why.

The atmosphere will be hostile at best. Don't rule out another badge kissing incident (or something similar). The pressure on him would be immense.

If he doesn't sign and ends up staying at the club for the remainder of his contract, there is always the possibility he could reconsider his position if he see's that the club is moving in the right direction(top 4)

and if it's the other players getting us towards that top 4 I'd reduce the offer by 2k/week for every week he doesn't make the team! No interest in a player who wants to ride others coat tails...he's been in a key position and not performing to CL standard so screw that... the chips have to be thrown down one way or the other

Give him 150k a week. He's a leading English midfielder with great potential. This may be RonKo's watershed moment ...

why? we've clearly offered him a good enough contract, if he doesn't want to play for the club he supports and won't sign, why should we look desperate and offer even more money? We're bigger than any player and i don't think any evertonian believes he's not signing because of financial reasons. He doesn't get in my starting XI for next season if we get gylfi, so he wouldn't warrant the highest wages.

At the stage now where he's got to go. It's quite clear he doesn't wanna be around

If he stays and gives us the "I always wanted to be here" nonsense, we will have an even poorer Barkley who's heart just isn't in it

So sad it came to this but I've now given up on him being an Everton player. Someone somewhere has messed up and the manager certainly hasn't helped

Do not sell to a PL rival. Let him sit on the bench and rot until he signs a new contract.

I said the same about lukaku but we sold him cheap to a rival. He even had two years left

Can't see us keeping him because the club will want the money rather than lose him. Something has gone badly wrong in the Ross Barkley saga and we will regret it big time come a year or two

Lukaku was a right mare though. He had to go, and we will be better for it. Barkley can play centrally or in midfield and is a required player. Plus $25m is nothing, he would end up signing a contract anyway if he was left to rot or risk missing the world cup

he messed up, not the manager....we have plenty of talented blues coming through who'd bite someone's hand off for that contract

Cannot believe some want an ageing and limited footballer (Sigurdsson) over a confidence shattered home grown fella who could explode any moment.

The set piece argument in favour of Sig is madness given we have both Rooney and Sandro in the squad..

Yeah that's it, blame the manager for Ross wanting out. Of course it has nothing to do with him wanting more than we're willing to pay, or hs agent trying to get him a big deal, or the groaners at Goodison who have been on his back for the past few seasons......groaning at every loose pass, shouting "TERN ROSS, TERN!". But ok, let's blame the manager.
