See this is why I despair over football fans. Sure the lad has great potential but it's the under 21 league ffs. Of course give him a go but at the expense of an international is daft.
We know he has a good shot on him and he scored a cracking hattrick for the U21's so when he plays for the first team he already has set a high bar so he scores only 2 goals from 30 yds and its BOOOOOOOOOO not as good as we thought. That's the high expectancy of Evertonians. I always think for a player to get along at Everton is to start mediocre and improve slighty over short periods rather than high expectancy from the start. Wayne Rooney has really messed our reasoning up.
Love him, but he was absolutely terrible on Saturday. Needs to stop playing like it's 5-a-side.

Deulofeu and Dowell would be very interesting replacements in that position for the next couple of weeks and let Barkley lie on a beach somewhere.

He needs a new manager to give him a distinct role - and a team that means there's always an option left or right. He likes to sweep it right to Del - that's been a good part of our play this season - but on the left the option isn't there - and he ends up drifting over there himself.
