Ross Barkley

Martinez hasn't ruined Ross Barkley, the man gave him a chance and still continues to do so. Ross or John Stones may not of made it with Moyes in charge. People have a word with yourselves. I have knee jerked over Martinez but looking at it in the cold light of day we have a lot of young players, young players have a problem with consistency (explains the past two seasons). Most of our players have always been bottle jobs and always blow it under pressure. Gone full circle, but Martinez should be given next season.

I'd want to leave if I heard the fans of the team I grew up supporting booing me off the field week in week out. People mocking him for getting cheered up by Jags in the tunnel are morons. He's a young lad with pressure on his shoulders who wants to succeed. He probably cares too much. If he had Roms attitude of using Everton as a stepping stone then it wouldn't effect his confidence so much.

Hate reading fans comments about him, telling him to "grow a pair", "harden up", "get over it" etc, like your mental wellbeing is just something you can fix with a click of your fingers.

Perhaps the lad's not gonna be that world class player that we invisiged, maybe he will, but I know one thing, booing him and telling him to "grow a pair" isn't going to make him play better.

Tottenham average team age is 24.9. Ours is 27.8. Not sure how you can blame youth for his downfall. Even if they choke next season, Spurs will most likely be in UCL again if not actually winning the league.
Youngest teams in EPL
IMO, he has impeded the growth of our youngsters as they do not know how to alter their game plan towards adversity because the manager does not have one nor does he allow his players to deviate from it.

I can see Barkley with a future here, with us being great. That future doesn't include Martinez or any of his crew in it.

Agree, sadly, we cannot speak for all of the fans and Barkley will need to learn to deal with it and not be affected by it. Once he can handle that, he can be great. Pretty sure every great player has many detractors.

Good shout That. Imagine feeling you're Scott Gemmil with his talent. [Poor language removed] my life

Set up both the goals by being boss.

Even at about 50% of his best form, he's amazing. Y'all better get back to worshiping.

Excellent point.

But that just makes me wonder why Lukaku's looked unarsed for the last 3-ish months?

Wouldnt say the Manager has ruined him, but what i will say is he hasnt helped him. For starters the whole squads fitness is a joke, yet Ross is the only one that get singles out for being 'unfit' by fans? The Manager is also telling him to do as little off the ball as possible, yet people cant seem to grasp that & still go and call him lazy. A lot of the things that he isnt really good at can be worked on and it does seem that Roberto isnt helping him with any of that at training.

One last thing, you expect him to get 'stuck in' when 1) Attacking midfielders very rarely go round throwing tackles in and 2) When you break your leg in two places and were told you wouldnt play football again because of 'getting stuck in' it will ALWAYS play on your mind.

Our Russ is boss mate and he'll be even better next Season.
