Sad that it has come to this,is anybody missing him already
Reiterate no body is bigger than Our club.
Alan Ball was sold.... Now that was some loss.
Just saying like.

or tearing his hamstring grade 3 - probably sits with a shotgun with gangsters on his caselol
Seriously though I do hope he stays. Be gutting to see him fulfil his potential with someone else. Not sure how this injury helps us, surely if he runs his contract right down he will still get a huge signing on fee for him and his agent if he leaves next summer. We won't be getting much for him in January at this rate so he needs to be sold now or pen a deal.

If he is still with us come September then hopefully we can sort an amicable deal out.

If not, and he decides to sign a pre contract elsewhere in January, leaving us for a rival without a penny in return.
We can offer him no football and tonnes of crisps and burgers for 6 months so he is in ideal shape for his new club.

If Ross goes on a free at the end of the season, as he would be 23 at season start, would we be entitled to any money via a tribunal from any team in England who signs him?

I don't think Koeman is the deciding factor here. If Ross signed the contract tomorrow, I reckon that would do Koeman. He strikes me as pragmatic and rational.

I have no doubt Norman is rational and pragmatic, but he also strikes me as a disciplinarian, a lot of humble pie needs to be digested before Ross gets near the team again. Just can't see it happening. Personally I think it would be the best for all concerned. What better challenge for him than to help his home town club to a top 4/6 league position, in Europe and win a trophy.

I've criticised Ross as much as anyone for some of his performances over the last couple of years. I think part of this is he doesn't have a position to call his own. I don't think he's see the centre midfielder other People seem to think he is, as I don't think he can tackle and he doesn't control games or have enough influence like the top centre minds have. You only have to look at the influence Davies has had in games already to see the difference in types of player the 2 if them are, and how even at his young age, Davies has the Nouse and tactical awareness of when to go and and when to stay.

I also don't think he's clever enough to be the number 10 others think he is, mostly down to his decision making and the time he takes on the ball, he always seems to take 10 touches when 1 will do.

But that being said, he clearly does have lots of ability. He has a great 1st touch, good close control, he has skill, can dribble, he is strong, he is fast, and he can certainly shoot.

So that begs the question, where should he play?

If he does end up staying, and bear in mind we now have Sigurdsson, Schneiderlin, Gueye, Klaassen, even Rooney, who are now all ahead of him in the pecking order, all of whom possess some or all of the different qualities Ross lacks, that we maybe we could try playing Ross as a Striker?

I think it could suit him, and us, and potentially save us a fortune in the process. I think it would take away the onus from him of having to create or make the decisions, get forward and back all the time, which is something he's struggled with, and would also give him a position he can try and make his own.

As well as the other qualities I listed before, he is also a big lad who's not bad in the air, and wins his fair share of defensive headers from opposition corners. And he can hold the ball up better than Rom ever could too

Just a thought anyway, but if he does end up staying, it could be worth trying out. And if I'm not mistaken, he even said in an interview not so long ago that he thinks his preferred position is a striker, so maybe there's something in it.
