Barkley's people are denying a medical took place. It may be down to how you define medical. A full one obviously wasn't possible given his injury.
Suspect he was in London hoping for Spurs but was told to go to Chelsea. He was probably tempted but not convinced while there.
Cost us a fortune. Sigh.

Presumably Spurs. Like anyone in the world, he's free to choose where he works. I know football fans have trouble with this concept though.

Oh great news, I'm sick of working in this prison canteen for 47p an hour and an extra hour's yard time.

To be honest, that's the only thing that makes sense at this point - that he got cold feet and wanted to stay at Everton.

I'm not prepared anything that the fraud Moshiri says at this point, so I'm awaiting clarification. But at this point, he's either been horribly advised and wised up at the last possible moment when reality set in, or he's been poorly advised and he's the biggest snake in the history of our club.

It's wait and see time I guess.

he gets sold his agent gets a nice big cut, the club gets a nice big fee, both their interests to make the move happen.

Maybe for the first time barkley actually stood up and made his own big boy decision.

Said before, i remember how speed was painted by the club and others also who have left

But you don't agree terms and go for a medical in that scenario mate. It doesn't happen. Look at Sissoko with us - sure, options open, use one club as leverage to another, but you don't call the bluff to the point where you sign the papers, agree a wage and turn up for a medical!!!

It may have been a desperate attempt to get Spurs to match the bid. So he went along with it all hoping they'd come in knowing they want him. But levy is astute and no way he would pay 35m for a player worth 15m in Jan who can't even play till Jan anyway

Our owner, Paul Joyce and Hunter all said ge has a medical and then rejected the move, yet Ross' close friends or family is saying he didnt take a medical.

So obviously someone is lying.

Semantics. He might have been "about to take one" or even a figure of speech to indicate how far the deal had progressed (fee, wages)

My brain is very tired and confused right now. So what is playing out here!? It's looking bad for Barkley either way....but still extremely unclear what's happened?

Agree hes basically the biggest snake of all time or pledging allegiance to the mighty blues

Probably a snake TBF and I love some fume from the fans when snakes come back to Goodison. If he is a snake hope he gets pelted with objects as he goes to take a corner

I am going to give Ross the benefit of the doubt and will do so until proven otherwise.

I do not believe Ross is a Machiavellian type of lad.

Nor do I believe his agent would do a grand old Duke of York and march him up to the top of the Chelsea hill only to march him straight back down again.

Presumably he deals with Chelsea on a regular basis or if not, he would be desirous of doing business with that club in the future.

So I cannot see him wanting to jeopardise that relationship by appearing to play Chelsea with a view to selling his client at a lesser fee in January.

Ditto Everton...he needs to keep Everton as an option for his clients.

So I am going to give Ross the benefit and will believe that when faced with actually leaving a club he has loved all his life, he had a change of heart and couldn't go through with it.

He wants to stay.

Perhaps I am being naive, foolish even, but that is what I am wanting to believe right now ;)

It seems everyone is of the opinion that he should have gone to Chelsea even if he didn't want to... now I know we've missed out on money but in reality he's allowed to choose where he goes to work each day, it's his life.
If you don't want to go.... Dont take a medical.... Again... It really is that simple. He has been tapped up..... Freaking obvious. If he still refuses our wage deal and leaves on a free next summer... I hope you change your thinking....This harms our club... It certainly doesn't help it. I hope..... Desperately that he does the right thing... Sign a contract, we get descent money.. We all move on..... If not ?? Well, His decision.

So the lad has turned down a move, denying us the chance to get very good money for him, so that he can get a better deal for himself in January? lol

Once the finger goes into the sphincter it's a medical.

Bit strange that yesterday WRD said this

"Barkley post yesterday, is that him and Koeman have seemed to be getting on the past couple of weeks and differences seems to be easing. Barkley has hinted very much about staying and Koeman seems to be warming to the idea"

Then he rejects Chelsea tonight. Maybe he's actually having second thoughts about a move. I honestly think this is one of them situations where nobody knows whats going on - I dont even think Ross is sure of what he wants.
