Think your the dogs bollocks when it comes to football knowledge? Are you one of them who each week claims that you should have put "that bet on" because you knew it would be that score? Well our new prediction game gives you the opportunity to prove yourself by predicting the correct results. Simply predict the results and scores of each weeks Premiership matches to collect points to move up the leagues.

Rules and Regulations

To take part in the league, you must sign up. To sign up, simply click here and reply. The deadline to sign up is 12:00am Saturday, 11 August 2007.

The prediction game will begin as soon as the first ball is kicked in the Premiership which is 12:45 on Saturday 11th August 2007. The game will finish at the end of the season.

Scoring Rules
Predict exact score = 3pts
example;
Your prediction: Everton 3-0 Wigan
Actual Result: Everton 3-0 Wigan

Predicting correct result and margin = 2pt
example;
Your Prediction: Villa 2-1 Liverpool
Actual result: Villa 3-2 Liverpool

Predicting correct result but wrong margin = 1pt
example;
Your Prediction: Everton 4-0 Wigan
Actual result: Everton 3-0 Wigan

Totally wrong score = 0pts.
example;
Your prediction: Everton 0-0 Wigan
Actual result: Everton 3-0 Wigan


A league will be run and obviously the member with the most points at the end of the season will be the winner.

Some more info for those interested in this sort of thing!

Bonus points:

1 point for 6 correct results (from 10 selections)
a 2nd point for 8 correct results.

In the event of any postponements the points scored will be rounded up as though 10 games were played (e.g 1 postponed match your score will be factored up by 1/9th and bonus points will be adjusted to take into account the lack of a full list)

Method to determine tiebreaker (weekly winner):

(a) Total number of correct scores (e.g 1-0) (b.) Total number of correct results - i.e Home win (c) Everton score (Correct score then Correct result) - otherwise it will be shared.

Ranking:

Additional Ranking point will be awarded for each week you enter
Additional 3 bonus Ranking points for winning (2 for 2nd, 1 for 3rd - points shared in the event of a tie)

Ranking criteria:

1. Overall position (where you finish in the field 100 being top)
2. Average number of points
3. Percentage of Correct Scores
4. Everton Predictions (% of points won)

Only players who have played 1 week in 3 or more will be shown in any Ranking List.

So, that's as simple as it ever is!!! All you have to do is put your weekly entry in (on time but if you miss one out by mistake you will get the majority prediction for that week).

I have posted Weeks 1 for those who just can't wait!

They are fine - you just missed out the 2 point bit (so guaranteed 2 pts if you go for a draw and get it right!) which I corrected - Draws are much harder to predict in any event b)
