apology if I am asking a stupid question just I am not sure I believe what I am seeing , are you saying that the majority of Everton supporters at the Southampton game are going there hoping Everton lose and or shout for Southampton ?

Wanting Sam out is not the same as supporting Southampton, it's wanting what's best for Everton

I believe in stability but it has to be with the right man, Sam Allardyce will do us lasting damage, reputationally and to the squad if he stays. Look how teams perform after he's gone that he's managed Bolton, Blackburn, Sunderland, West Ham....He's a short term fix that causes lasting wreckage at a club. We need to restructure from top to bottom if we hope to rebuild and challenge again in future years that includes manager. Keeping Big Sam is a acceptance of mediocrity and standing still and standing still in this league is going backwards.

The only reason he will stay is if we mess up our recruitment this summer (and lets face it, that could happen...).

He was only ever a glorified caretaker because the right man was not available at the time of his appointment. Safe pair of hands etc.

This Brands thing will have a big part of it because surely he will have a big say on who the manager will be but we have to get him in first too. There is probably loads going on behind the scenes in this regard.

How many fans wanted us to lose against city a few years ago when liverpool were going for the league.

So he kept Sunderland up from an almost impossible position but the fact they have gone into free-fall is his fault? He got Bolton into Europe but the fact that years later they look like dropping out of the Championship is down to him? Bilic had nothing to do with WHU dropping like a stone in HIS second season.I don't want Allardyce here next season but blaming him for the cock-ups of every club he's ever managed is a bit of a stretch to say the least.

To quote the wonderful @orly: Everywhere he goes, the death of the club follows.

If losing means harms towards Scamuel, sign the majority of us up.

Did you want us to lose to City when it helped stopped the Reds winning the title mate? I mean, on the outside I wanted us to win like every week but on the inside I wanted us to lose - yenno, stopping a lesser evil.

Doesn’t make anyone any less of a Blue for wanting us to lose - especially with two games to go.
I want Everton to win every game we play and I'm devastated when we lose (even if we draw after scoring first) Your idea of being an Evertonian and mine are obviously very different.

I got battered a few years ago for moaning about fans wanting Martinez's team to lose as it would speed up the process of him being sacked.

I would like to think that the vast majority would want us to win regardless but there does seem to be an element who would be happy for it to happen which is pretty weird.

Not me for one,as for the rest, you'll need to ask them.Maybe you should read the lyrics to the song the forum is named after.

Face it, due to him having very little support in the fanbase because of his attitude and football, a few bad results next year and he will be facing the chop again and we'll be in the same mess as last year. That isn't stability.

As I said earlier though the results in the last couple of games will not swing the meter on him one way or another (barring back to back 0-10 capitulations of course..)

So we may as well hope for wins.

I mean, I’m not going to sit in the same seat I’ve sat in for 10 years and start singing Southampton songs but if a defeat leads to anti allardyce noise that leads to a meltdown, I wouldn’t be against that.
I`m all for anything that shakes the crowd out of it`s torpor, even a heavy spanking by Southampton.

I get the feeling a lot of the " silent " fans just need something to get them going and give the board a clear message.

I want what’s best for the club and if that means suffering a defeat for a greater, overall good then that’s what’s got to happen.

Congratulations on winning the Biggest Blue stakes though. I’m sure your prize will be in the post.

I'm not saying it's all his fault but he certainly leaves alot of wreckage after he's done his Houdini act at clubs. Both reputationally to a club with his negative outlook and tactics and packing the squad with aging PL players who only know one way. Of course the mess we are in is deeper than Sam but we need to be rebuilding not keeping a sticking plaster on a festering wound.

Yeah, same. I thought Newcastle could have turned quite bad had we gone behind but they were so awful that wasn’t happening.
