2018/19 Sandro Ramirez

Interestingly I watched Sandro Ramirez during half time during Allardyce’s alleged first match in charge against West Ham. It was a freezing cold evening admittedly, but he and Robles kicked balls to each other during the break and he looked hunched, hood up, terrible body language. I thought then, this bloke doesn’t want to be here.

I didn't see that game. Do you really, truly think he deliberately played badly? Or was he just bad, regular bad?

Was he that bad? I stand by what I saw that day....he had rarely featured as a starter from around the September. I was uncomfortable watching him.

Had scored his one and only in that embarrassment against Atalanta end of November but missed two sitters as well. Then camd on as last minute sub against a poor Swansea in the late December but never touched the ball, then started the TV game against Chelsea. Funny it was a week before transfer window opened & when MG remembers he ran away from the ball. The lad had gone and was in no mental or physical state to play in the game.....couldn’t drive, couldn’t speak English, had an injured Funes & backup Robles to talk to in his native tongue, getting bullied on the pitch.....team hopelessly out of form, out of Europe and mangager who had bought him long gone. But taking home £5m a season.

Tough on him? Perhaps.....deserves another chance I agree, but attitude and application has to match the ability we thought was there when we bought him. He wanted to go to Athletico if I remember right, but transfer ban scuppered that, the delights of County Road weren’t his first choice I reckon, but money talks doesn’t it. Over to young Sandro in my book.

Thanks for your reply, fair enough mate.

Not going to Athletico now is he !.
I think that we should keep this guy.
New coach may be able to get something out of him.
Quite flexible , and pacy.
Richarlison, Walcott , Tosun, him and Lookman , interchanged isn't too shoddy

There is no doubt, for me, there is a player inside there. Up to him though to show some heart and desire and prove us all wrong. At the moment his career is headed for the scrapheap and you'd hope that would inspiration enough for any young player.

Spends most of his time chasing the ball after his first touch let him down, also goes down far too easily. Would probably be best all round if he went back to a club in Spain as simply cannot see him making it over here.

There are any number of players operating in the lower Divisions with the level of Ramires's ability. In the position he's been playing pre-season he's like a poor man's Dirk Kuyt.
