What if the release clause is about £40m though? It's not going to be £5m again is it let's be honest, "developing players for other clubs" is an extremely dramatic way of looking at it I think.

No it does not mean that, not even slightly.

Because that release clause in March was less than we valued him at, and any new deal meant significant bonus for player and agent, including back pay salary.

It wasn't terms Everton could agree to, Raiola knew it hence proactively going on likes of talkSPORT to say 99.99% done to pile pressure on.

Hoping there's no silly release clause for Ramirez, I'd sooner we didn't buy him.

I agree 100% on the Rom/Raiola contract and the shenanigans he was trying, using the media for one, he thought he could push us about like he had with Juve and United.

And because if that I'm very confident we won't be backing down to what would effectively turn this into a season long loan.

So far not seen anyone reporting it with any credibility whatsoever, and frankly no one involved in the deal would leak that as it serves no purpose to either party.

No players agent would leak it on signing to the press as it'd just alienate him instantly at the New club with some supporters etc.

The club wouldn't leak it for similar reasons and its also sour the effect of a new signing.

Deulofeu was a different scenario As barca had to appease the delboy fans in the supporters hence leaking it.

Their may be a clause where he can leave for a low fee if he doesn't play a percentage of games etc, in that case it's fine.

Completely agree, don't want to play as a luxury feeder club to anyone Not to Barcelona or Real and certainly not to Atletico.
