I'd hate an Everton player to have a buy out clause that was anything like realistic, it's just a way of saying "If I do really well here I want to be able to **** you off for greener grass without you having a say in the matter"

Yeah, the £20 million is kinda like a safety clause for Blackburn. Everyone knows he's not worth that and he may just have to see out his contract at Ewood.

Agree, one good season and suddenly he's the dogs bollocks.

There was a reason Blackburn picked him up so cheap

We picked up Arteta, Cahill and Lescott so cheap, was that for the same reason? (y)

But yeah he is vastly overrated, I'd pick the Yak over him any day

lol I see your point, but really it was cause he was useless at bayern, whereas arteta cahill lecott were more unknowns playing in worse leagues:lol:

there you go, im a knowitall(n)

Well Cahill and Lescott were playing really well, even though it was a lower level, and Arteta wasn't getting a game at Sociadad (but that was literally just 6 months of his young career).

Santa Cruz played for Munich for EIGHT YEARS. During that time, they won the league a whole bunch of times, so presumably his suporting cast was a bit good, and he managed one goal every five games. For the best team in his country, remember.

Since then, he had one good season for Blackburn (which was very similar to the one good season Benni McCarthy had), and then missed most of the season through injury.

There's no doubt he suits the English game, but the German game isn't that different (it's not Spain or Italy). He just had a season where everything went in for him - it happens. Always remember: Michael Ricketts.

City are making a bags of it again this lad although a good player isnt far of 30, when you think Barry is the same and if they get Toure they will have a squad with a lot of players in their thirties siting on big contracts quite soon.
