So, was just wondering what everyone’s thoughts on this Saudi league are?

Is it like the ill fated Chinese league which frankly never amounted to much?

Or do folk think it’s going to have more substance? Clearly the monies involved are turning heads of players who are not yet in their twilight years (Son, Mendy, Brozovic, Neves etc) but without grass roots and infrastructure is that sustainable?

Might weaken a few teams (Tottenham, Wolves etc) which would be good for us as I can’t see any of our lot going. Or will the money these teams get hyper inflate our British market (again)?!

There must be huge concerns about how Chelsea appear to be manipulating this league to recoup vastly inflated sums of money.. and what’s the chances we see some of these players loaned back to Prem league teams?!

Personally think it’s obscene amount of money involved but ultimately I think all they are doing is wasting it. Time will tell.

Chelsea are in for some serious trouble soon enough, they are making city look like choir boys at the minute.

People will go there for the money for a couple of years but it will fizzle out like China did, because no one will want to watch it.

Just put in the other thread on dis - the ESL should have been allowed to happen with the sky 6 kicked out the league.

Sadly you had fans of the other 14 clubs who cried for them to be forced to stay in the PL - more fool them as the gap gets wider and wider.

Before/when FFP was first introduced you had teams like Wigan, Birmingham & Middlesbrough winning trophies and since then football has gotten more and more corrupt / greedy.

Only side to win ought domestically from when the FFP era really started to take effect is Leicester with the next likely a Saudi doped up Newcastle bending the rules.

Going to be a big success, start of the super league, outside UEFA jurisdiction but offering a Monaco style lifestyle for the players.
Let’s hope it ruins the Premier League and the ‘big 6’ and we can go back to proper footie..

Big 7 now mate with that massive, north eastern powerhouse joining them.
