Dunno about it being similar. But there is definitely a lot of Irish in Australia and in Merseyside....so I'm sure a lot of the same words and phrases are used by both.
in which case all the aussies should go for the audition for the film, it's true though have you not noticed that every time cahill shouts for the ball it ends up back with hibbo, they just sound so alike
if anything it'll be that the scouse accent will be getting diluted by all the antipodean tv shows that the lids watch inbetween xbox games, and they all probably want to be chopper.
I remember in the '80's everyone started ending their sentences like a question round here like they do in AUS because they all watched too much Neighbours. Was well annoying that
