That's a lot of words for a situation that exists entirely in your imagination. Not so much that they've said there won't be any new players at all but yes I would guess that this is closer to the truth than what is currently being reported. I doubt that it's quite as simple as Dyche saying 'I've had enough, I can't be bothered anymore' to his boss but expecting to continue being paid/get a lump sum anyway, and more likely that there's been a conversation about how he needs to get more out of what he's got and basically said 'I don't think I can'. The club have understandably decided that's not an acceptable answer, and have spun the story as him giving up and them being unexpectedly forced to act in order to explain why they made a bit of a mess of how things panned out. All pretty par for the course in these things really, as are the inevitable 'the players hated him because he wouldn't let them eat chips' type articles that will no doubt come out over the next day or two.
Have any of the players thanked or acknowledged his exit on social media. Though I would say our squad don’t seem the most active on social media.
They gave him a month's notice. That's why a lot of us felt they should have sacked him on day one.
Surely a lack of tactical guidance and direction in training sessions is a significant red flag? Weren’t those defending Dyche previously arguing that the players weren’t downing tools? Their main point was that the lack of quality in the squad was our biggest issue. It is a major problem, but I thought the main issue this season was that he simply ran out of ideas—teams figured us out, and rather than adapting, he reverted to the style of his Burnley sides. I think the opening fixtures where we conceded for fun spooked him. This group have downtooled for every single manager in the past 10 years. We are consistent in buying players who are mentally weak. We seen under Dyche that they could perform well. Not saying Dyche is blameless in all of this, but the players are awful technically and mentally. I am attached to not one single one of them - good riddance to them all once their time comes
Again, when people say things like 'I would guess' and 'I doubt' it is generally an indication that they are giving an opinion rather than claiming something is a fact. I know such self awareness is in short supply on here, but I find it works for me.That's a lot of words for a situation that exists entirely in your imagination.
