2022/23 Sean Dyche

If he can keep this most unbalanced of squads in the Prem after the hardest run-in of any team he will be a hero in this city for life.

We had already played all the 'poor' sides twice by the time Frank was fired. The pundits all said in January that we were gone and Dyche has confounded the critics.
Come on mate , if we stay up it will be because Southampton, Leeds and Leicester are absolutely crap not because Dyche is the 2nd coming of Pep.

Yes the squad is atrocious and yes the team looks a little bit more organised and motivated since he came in but honestly that's about it.

If we stay up it's due to the incompetance of others bar one result v Brighton.

Motivated and organised are the only things he could work with. He needs to keep the job if we stay up.
But the jury is still out on long term suitability

The same people saying sack Dyche will probably be the ones back in November who wanted to keep Lampard in the job after the Bournemouth thrashing.

Go back and check.
When there backs are against the wall, this is the copy and paste argument to stick up for Dyche.

The same people saying this are probably the same people saying 'the club can't make the same mistakes over and over again'

I.E Keeping hold of a manager based on the fact they came in and just about kept us in the league

I'm no fan of Dyche but he will steady the ship and if he does keep us up he deserves another season and finishing 14th would be a massive improvement.

The same people defending Lampard back in November also said we shouldn't sack him as we would be just like Watford. Not even six months and they want this manager sacked.

We will have another season of cost saving to manage so stick with him I say. Once we have a window to spend money is the time to replace him.
Contradicting yourself there saying Dyche deserves a chance if he keeps us up yet Lampard didnt

When have i said Lampard didn't, last season was a write off and he deserved to have a preseason and a window to bring some new signings in.

But it came quite clear after a few months of this season he was an awful manager who needed to go after the Bournemouth week.

All sounds very familiar to last season. Lots (myself included) saying Lampard deserves the next season due to saving us from relegation due to the manager that came before him and saying we would be happy if we improved and got 14th.

That has gone well and here we are saying the same again.

Just wondering how much better has Dyche done compared to how Lampard did last season (ppg wise)?
Lampard did better in the relegation run in mate! But pretty similar.
Dyche has 18 points in 17 games
Lampard had 20 points in 18 games (including the Arsenal last day result)

The Dyche backers will say Lampard had Richarlison in the run in/ a better side!
Id argue Tarkowski/McNeil are good additions to that side last year!

Good post from you though, which is exactly the same boat im in! Say thankyou to Dyche for keeping us up. But avoid making the same mistakes we made in the past

You do have to question Dyche over continuing to play Maupay, when even the scotch egg himself would do better up front. Maupay won’t score so any one else has to be worth a shot.
Waiting until 4 games to go to play Mina

Giving Simms his chance vrs Liverpool & Man Utd away but no other game (almost like he was trying to prove a point he's not good enough)

The lack of use of Demari Gray (he's not great but we dont have many other options)

Iwobi (our most creative central midfielder) being played on the wing (especially when Doucoure was suspended)

Godfrey & Holgate at right back ahead of Patterson

Conor Coady completely ostrasized from the side

Maupay in general

Substitutions

Bournemouth were a lot worse than us and their manager turned it around but apparently Dyche had an impossible job...with 18 games left. just hope we stay up and go from there, we can't let this happen again.

Bournemouth spent money in january to try and not be in a final day scenario Everton are in.
This club did nothing in january. Apart from play 4 games and lose every single one of them.

Yup. You'd imagine Dyche spent a small fortune in the transfer market - like his popular predecessor - such is the standard he is being held to. I just wish we had these standards last November...

If we stay up, Dyche'll stay. If we drop, the board will want their scapegoat.
