sundays game mate was my final straw with him. the bigger thing tho as now is we don’t know what’s going on off the field who’s making decisions etc to even compentate
sacking him
I never picked up that straw in the first place. His appointment was a sad sign of our continuing decline. Its gone the way we might have expected. Appoint a relegated manager who packs a team with relegated players and you end up getting ...? The whole spectacle was/is depressing. Would have much preferred the roller coaster excitement of finding out just what Bielsa had packed in that massive suitcase!

I would like to see us just move the ball quickly to the flanks, and get crosses in at every opportunity. Beto and Calvert-Lewin are suited to it, and Doucouré or Onana making late runs into the box adds a bit of unpredictability. We don’t have much guile, so brute force seems our best option.

The problem with this is that both of our wingers are told to hold hands with the full backs on the edge of our penalty area and defend, and we can’t get up the pitch quick enough to get them into a crossing position. When they do get there they’re completely isolated because their full back won’t cross the half way line, and the opposition can easily cut off the crossing angle forcing them to pass infield where we inevitably lose possession.

Just had a read from his thread back in May/June. All the posts saying he deserved a full season after saving us. The exact same thing we did with Lampard based on remarkably close record to Lampard after the same amount of games.

Almost as if we should have learnt from experience.

I won’t vault some of the ridiculous comments including a comparison to what Moyes did for us 😂

Yes but did you know he got Burnley into the Europa League (qualifying round) 6 years ago? I don’t think it’s been mentioned on here.

At least with him being defensively minded, he has made us hard to beat…..
Hate focussing on reducing the probability of losing, been going on for decades now. You get zero points whether it was hard to beat you or easy to beat you. Hard to beat has always and will always imply you are “hoping” to draw or win, never actually trying to draw or preferably win. Mentality in and around the club is pitiful.
