I don't know why the xG stat gets people riled up. It's just expected goals. It's obviously not as important as the scoreline but nobody who brings it up thinks that. It's generally a good indication of what team controlled the game, there'll of course be outliers. We seem to consistently be that this season. The fact we seem to be creating good chances and have still lost at home to Fulham, Wolves and Luton is obviously still a cause for concern whatever your opinion of xG is.
