2023/24 Sean Dyche

He is falling down Martinez/Silva path of being blind to the narrative.

Both Martinez's and Silva's stubbornness to their own failing which they refused to correct.

Martinez was defensive issues and Silva had set piece problems but for Dyche, it is becoming blind to his continued support for our of form players - Young and Gueye.

Another poor excuse is his XG flag he is hanging his hat on. It's a useless fact which is used to cover up how we don't score.

Also if he mentioned "The Noise" one more time, that "Noise" is the fanbase who are fully aware that the board are toilet who are being completely ignored by the board, media and club.

So shut up ya utter Ted and stop losing easy games at home

Someone start a petition so that the PL ignore actual points and base the league on xG this year.

Currently only a point behind Liverpool.

It’s just all absolute fluff isn’t it. The goal we scored against Luton was technically 3 chances so massively skews the xG in our favour, but in reality we didn’t actually test their keeper in the entire game before or after that goal.

I honestly dont understand this xG stuff, and to be honest i dont want to.
What defines a big chance?
Is Beto's header in the second half that goes over the bar counted as a big chance?
I think it depends on comments by Commentator, such as :

"oh he's missed a sitter there" -Big Chance
"should have scored there" - Big Chance
"how did he miss that" -Big Chance

"to be fair, wasnt that easy that one" - xg

:coffee: im sort of being facetious but not sure how they meet any such criteria!!

Baffling!

if its in its in, if its not then -No Goal, thats how my head works!

XG can do one for me, pointless, as pretty much are we with a good xg, so sort of disproves their theory!

Disruptive to a team that's already one of the deep favourites to go down anyway?

Disruptive to a club that really, really can't afford to keep sacking managers.

I understand there is a point you have to sack, and realistically it's hard to see a way back for him if we don't win on Saturday.

I back Dyche to turn it around. But that's purely based on my own opinion and understand the reasons why people think he'll never turn us around.

No idea mate. just keep hearing that we should keep Dyche because he is good at it.

Hope the PL feel the same way at the end of the season.

You do realise that the overwhelming fans favourite for Dyche's replacement (Potterball) had the exact same defence at Brighton when his side would have about 50 shots at goal every game and only score 1 ?

Its easy to shout "sack der manager" but who's coming in ? who's paying Dyche off ? who would work under a wantaway owner / crooks in 777 ?

It's a helpful metric that alone is meaningless. You need to take the context of the game into account.

Everton's xG was good, but it largely came in the first half and a lot of that was the fact that our goal consisted of 3 high xG chances before it finally went in.

So it you look at in full context it tells you we made chances in the first half and were crap in the 2nd.

Would you disagree with that because it sounds like the game I watched live.

He’s been here long enough to see it’s not working. The home results are so bad. An average manager would have a better record than he’s produced.

He’s losing games we should be winning.

The interviews are tedious, repeating the same old lines and blaming the history of the club for underperformance - failing to recognise that’s his job to turn it around.

I hope they are making moves to replace him regardless of the Bournemouth result.
If we looked at the
Hiding behind the “underlying numbers” also says to me that he isn’t going to change a thing and will keep doing what’s been proven to not work over and over again expecting it to suddenly work. So get used to Young at right back, Garner on the wing, one up front with Doucoure playing off him, zonal marking at set pieces, route 1 if we go behind in a game.
luckily it won’t be for long

Potter got Brighton 9th with maupay playing over 30 prem games. Remember him, apparently he’s not a proper striker

Maybe a lack of patience would help? I know we live in disposable ages full of entitled people but with the tools Everton give Me Dyche he’s got a tough task building something competitive in a the Premier League.

Can safely say, whilst some performances have been decent and therefore an ‘xG win’, I haven’t come away from a game this season thinking we were unlucky.

Unlucky is when you’re peppering the goal whilst the ball somehow stays out through goalkeeper heroics/bad refereeing etc., whilst looking solid defensively and only conceding to freak goals. If that’s the case, you can use the xG excuse with SOME credibility. Frankly I feel like the points we are on is exactly what is deserved, through toothless striking, and haphazard/disorganised defending.

If the opposition has an xG of 0.5, but we continuously concede 2, it’s not because of luck, it’s because half chances for them are ending up in the back of the net because we’re crap at defending.

And stop saying "change the story".

For me, I look at how many teams last season sacked their manager and didn’t go for Dyche, yet somehow he was the only option for us?? If Dyche was on this current run of form with another club right now, how many would be saying he’s the right man for us?? Lampard wasn’t good enough, FSW wasn’t good enough, why is Dyche the right man not only to save us from relegation, but also make some sort of progression? Simple answer is he’s not and never will be.
