It's the limitations of xG. It's a good metric on chances created but you can't rely on it anymore than that. For example, Harrison's goal probably had 0.01 xG or something and other long-range goals would be similar which completely skews data.
It also doesn’t factor in the individual player. Like if you allow Idrissa Gueye a 25 yard shot unchallenged he’ll put it out the stadium, but if you allow Kevin de Bruyne exactly the same opportunity he’s putting it on target and probably in the top corner. The xG will be the same but clearly one player is more likely to score the opportunity than the other. That’s just one of hundreds and hundreds of variables that aren’t taken into consideration when looking at a raw set of numbers.
Stats are bogus and xG is no different. An actual professional football manager trying to hide behind it is frankly embarrassing.
