2024/25 Sean Dyche

We've averaged 41 points for 3 years on the spin.

Sack him tomorrow, and whoever comes in still has a team that's relegation fodder. Fans badly overestimate this team - we're crap.

Until there's new ownership, and investment to bring in players with pace/who can score goals - we're going to be in a relegation scrap.

That new ownership will bring in their own manager.

I'm just hoping our heads are above water come January, when hopefully ownership situation sorted and we can bring in a few players.

Better managers make players better.

Fans would have you believe the team/squad is on par with Ipswich and Southampton. Delusional

Got a player sat on the bench there that walks into Liverpool’s starting XI, and I’m being led to believe we have no hope of competing with Bournemouth.

Dyche has done a number on this fanbase, in much the same way Benitez did. A complete dumbing down and brainwashing exercise, set expectations so low in order to preserve your own ego. I’ve noticed recently that a lot less fans are falling for it though, there’s been a changing of the tide. There’s still a few desperately clinging on to his coat tails but with each passing week the curtain is being lifted more and more and people are seeing him for what he is. We are getting worse as a football team the longer he’s here. His excuses have worn too thin. It’s game over.

Onana didn’t start for us at the back end of last season so why would he start him now? Richarlison wasn’t part of our squad in 2022/23 either.

Why is Branthwaite being benched for Keane?

That Onana myth is just that. He didnt start 3 or 4 games in 10.

Or maybe he knows there's not loads of goals so realises the importance of being set up to not concede loads?
So he’s setting us up to not concede loads of goals, whilst having nothing of the ball and zero real threat the other end, against every single team we play against?!

We’re still giving away loads of chances and shots to the opposition, even in games we end up winning, and always having much less of the ball, every single game. It’s mind numbing and most of the time it’s a strategy that’s catches you out.

Against certain sides from the scab6 in the league, maybe we should set up like that, but we need to be doing more offensively against the leicesters and southamptons of the league.

We’re not difficult to beat under Dyche, we’re as dull as ditchwater and as predictable as a Tory mp on the fiddle.

We should already be looking to replace him because it's not sustainable as a club to live short term and we should be looking to the long term with our manager which Dyche has proved he isn't going to be.

I reckon he will stay until Jan at least unless things seriously dive (aka a run of continuous losses with no points picked up). If we are in the bottom 3 at Christmas he will be gone as new owners should be in and they'll want to capitalise on their first window.

This is the exact state of affairs and always has been. People are getting extremely wound up from result to result but the big picture isn’t changing.

He was brought into to keep us up and see us through the PS&R storm whilst the club is sold.

The new owners will want their own manager upon the takeover whether that’s before the end of the season or at the end of his contract. Thats been reflected by the club in not offering a new contract.

I’ve not seen a single person on here who has been calling for Dyche to stay on long term, get a new long term deal, or claim he is the manager to take us forward. None. I’m sure someone will find an old quote from one person that they’ll take out of context and represent this as the will of the forum but anyone with half a brain cell can see that there is no widespread clamour on this forum for Dyche to stay on long term.

Even by his critics own admission though, the job has been done. Expectations that he raised himself are now that we are a mid table team with a mid table squad. If Dyche tanks against those expectations then it’s no issue as we can easily get someone else in post takeover who can finish ahead of thee teams with ease. If he doesn’t tank results then he’s gone at the end of his contract or whenever Friedkin want.

Historically under us he gets results when people think we won’t and doesn’t when people think we will, because we play badly one week under Dyche is not an indication we will the next week and vice versa. He’s broken bad runs of form in the past to stop them turning into death spirals.

He’s either gone in the summer, or earlier, but either way the job has been done in the derisking of Everton football club. I’ll say thankyou for delivering in an extremely difficult period for the club.

Can’t remember any club being run like a raft cut adrift in the choppy waters of an Ocean for so long.
This club just ambles along without a proper board or anybody worthy of making any decisions.
This guy has checked out as he knows he won’t be here after next summer. Absolute buffoon as a manager.
I suppose his pay check for failure can’t come soon enough.

You see, I don't see the exact same tactics every game that some people claim. We didn't go to Saints and go with a low block. We tried to press for most of the game. There was even a couple of times in the first half when Keane just left tarkowski, and went in to their half joining the press. It certainly wasn't the tactics you'll likely see him use at let's say Anfield.

The press at the weekend was only effective at times though, and when we did have those spells were it was effective, and you felt we were on top, we were found lacking.

Anyway, he's not getting booted yet, so a good result against the hammers will relieve a bit of pressure. We're all hoping for that, aren't we?

While he's not at fault for the short-termism that the club has employed and continues to employ due to the imminent takeover, his management is part of the issues we currently find ourselves in. I think last year overall he had a very good season given the issues he had to deal with and the points tally he mustered but it wasn't without horrific moments and this season that trend has continued. Tactically he has barely any counterparts now in the league/world football which means that when a new manager is employed, it won't be a seamless transition but one which requires big changes.

The job isn't done either. We still don't have guaranteed PL football next season.

Of course we all are hoping for a good result and ongoing good results, but hope only gets you so far.

The lads aren’t playing with any hope, they are playing with fear and being scared to lose, which invariably results in losing the match. The fans in the stand are already fearing the worst before we’ve kicked a ball.

Everything we’re doing is halfarsed - the press, build up play is none existent, isolated forwards, our best defender/player sat on the bench because those in the team have done “ok” according to the manager, full backs who won’t venture too far forward under orders by the looks of it, it’s disjointed and rough.

This just can't go on. Dyche is killing the support for the club - there is no enjoyment at all in watching Everton now and absolutely no chance of attracting new fans to the club. As a season ticket holder I just can't be arsed if I go to the game or stay at home - it's just awful watching the boring sh**e he serves up. He is a PE teacher, nothing more nothing less, and is a million miles away from being a Premier League coach. If the Friedkin Group are definitely going ahead with the deal to buy the club then is it possible for them to instruct Moshiri to get rid of him now? Almost certainly they must have a new manager lined up so just get him in as soon as possible. Why wait one more day to allow this charlatan to carry on embarrassing our club and throw away more points?
Another Ian Buchan from the 1950's then,he didn't last long!!!🤞
