2024/25 Sean Dyche

We've averaged 41 points for 3 years on the spin.

Sack him tomorrow, and whoever comes in still has a team that's relegation fodder. Fans badly overestimate this team - we're crap.

Until there's new ownership, and investment to bring in players with pace/who can score goals - we're going to be in a relegation scrap.

That new ownership will bring in their own manager.

I'm just hoping our heads are above water come January, when hopefully ownership situation sorted and we can bring in a few players.

Crap manager.

Crap squad.

Might keep us up, might not.

Would a different manager get more out of the squad? Maybe.

Would a different manager actually do a worse job and not keep us up? Maybe.

Would be helpful that the manager and DoF didn't have a few months left on their contract.

Let's say Dyche leaves tomorrow.

And say... Potter comes in.

Nothing changes besides that. The summer, we have to sell more than we spend as we have the past 3 years.

Maybe that means we keep Harrison. The likes of Coleman, Young and Gana can plod on another season.

You'd seriously look at our squad and think "yeah, that shouldn't be near the bottom"

Baffles me.

So Friedkin and Co are courting Lampard as the next manager at Roma. Just when you thought the lost weekend couldnt get any worse…

He's only had two clubs. Im not counting watford as they sacked him in under a year.
So its Burnley only that he got relegated with and then promoted with.
Unless we've got that to come. Relegation and then keep him for the promotion.
Lucky us.
You should count Watford mate, he finished 11th with them (hanging around 17th/18th in the Championship most the season until a bit of a surge at the end of the season when nothing to play for) ,

They then got rid of him for Zola for the next season and they got promoted

We'd need a pretty miraculous one to come in and start getting goals from Harrison (relegated with Leeds), Doucoure (relegated with Watford) and McNeil (relegated with Burnley).

Relying on Calvert-Lewin who has one eye on the door, with Young and Mykolenko supporting from the flanks.

Said it for about 5 years on here now - lack of ability across the final third/goals in this team dictates a scrap.

13th-17th is this Everton team. Small margins Higher end if luck/injuries on our side, lower end if not.
Those three were the better players from those relegated teams so that's a bit of correlation, not causation. Roy Keane was relegated with Notts Forest. Pickford was relegated with Sunderland

I'll give you Calvert-Lewin with his one eye on the door
Young is a product of Dyche so he would not be a problem. Patterson seems a capable Attacking FB and Mykolenko we don't really know how he would be supporting from the flanks because, well Dyche

We probably won't go down, and other teams will just survive too, but they wont be suffering Dycheball and his self praise for the good, hand washing for the bad. Did a job. We're going nowhere with him. Looking forward to when he's gone so I can enjoy watching Everton again

Well it wasn’t near the bottom last season.

Why's that the benchmark for wetting the bed? He finished 12th last season without deductions and we've strengthened our squad.

Mangala
Jesper
O’Brian
Ndiaye
Stick with him and we shouldn’t go down hahahahah. We shouldn’t be going down with any manager. Our squad isn’t the best in the league, but it’s certainly not the worse either. Any half decent manager would have Everton sitting comfortably mid table. Dyche was talking about a relegation battle 3 games in. Dyche is the problem with our squad.

There is a difference between squad changes and strengthening the squad. Ndiaye has improved the squad's quality, but the other players haven't (as of yet).

It's all relative, too. If the rest of the league has spent more than us each season, it's fair to say that we are underinvested.

Dyche has a squad capable of avoiding relegation, but it's not a top-half squad. I 100% believe he will keep us up, and it will be riskier bringing in a different manager at this time unless this manager is part of the future owners' plans and they are going to financially back him through the January window.
'He's done the job he's been asked to come in and do'

Unfortuately, the job he is in to do is get us to the new stadium in the premier league while at the same time operating at a minus net spend year on year.

When that changes the manager changes

There's exception to rule, but when you have a front 3 that have all been relegated it's not a good sign. The headline is none of them score enough goals. Never have, and aren't going to start now.

We have fans who do nothing but slate Calvert-Lewin as being terrible, and then point at Dyche for us not being able to score goals.

In 83 games - Mykolenko hasn't registered a single Premier League assist because he can't beat a man and cross a ball. You ask him to cross the half way line an you lose the steady 6/10 he can give you defensively.

Give the points back, and we still hadn't hit 40 points until 33/34 league games.

A team that has been fighting relegation for 3 years on the spin, is in a relegation fight until it isn't.

We're in one this season until we hit 40 points.

That’s not relevant because Luton were sat on about 25 points.

Are Forest still in a relegation fight because they were the last two seasons and haven’t hit 40 points yet?

How do you know that is what his remit is, there’s nobody at the top to give him his remit so I’m not sure how you can make that assumption.

Last year was dour football but he had us minus deductions in a very comfortable position so wouldn’t it stand to reason that this year you would expect progress.

He hasn’t progressed the style of play, results are similar than last year and the mood about the place continues to be dreadful.

His style of play concedes the ball, home or away we do not want to control the ball or press. He would rather stay in shape, defend and hope to score. I know staying in the premier league is important but I pay my money to go and enjoy watching Everton play football and it is so depressing watching us getting passed off the park by Fulham! We are all entitled to our opinions on the manager but it seems the majority of the fan base has had enough of his dour style of play.

It’s not even like his style is serving up wins, we can barely keep a clean sheet and we don’t score. I keep reading people say there’s some dreadful teams in the league who are worse than us, what a sad indictment of where we are that our survival has and continues to be hinged on there being 3 worse teams, it’s been to long we have had anything to be proud of.
