2024/25 Sean Dyche

Yeah, maybe he should play *checks notes*.... erm.

Well, there's nobody else really is there?

Lindstrom. Sure he'll rescue us.

You've swerved the Branthwaite one there. He was our best defender last year. Why is it the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool put their best defender straight back in but he leaves ours on the bench and carries on with Keane.
Does that tell you a little bit about Sean Dyche.

Wow some people still defend him

Branthwaite was only ready for 1st team football when Dyche was in charge.

he wasnt ready under previous managers.

Stating facts is, just that, you don’t need to defend when you’re telling the truth.

Funny how he played first team games under different managers then isn’t it.

Who determined he was ready, took the risk and gave him the opportunity Sean Dyche.

Defo one of Dyches makey upy favourates.

It’s almost like he actually does have his favourites. Mad isn’t it.

Hard to know where you are going with that. He started 4 games as a 17yr old before going on loan to Holland.
Massive difference in the few years development and being ready.

Having an arrogant, stubborn manager who throws players under the bus before, during and after matches with just months left on his contract, who doesn’t play his best players and who also has no interest whatsoever in the club or indeed any interest in coaching his players to be able to actually play WITH the ball, is a recipe for deep concern.
Mix in a load of players who are also in the last months of their contracts, players who know the managers favourites will ALWAYS be picked regardless of form or fitness and players who know the manager doesn’t fancy them and it’s a disaster already unraveling.

Anybody still clinging to the “be careful what you wish for” mantra needs to have a good stare in the mirror. I can personally see this season mirroring his last at Burnley where they left it too late to get rid of his enforced negativity.

He is utterly toxic and the more the players are told they’re not good enough to play football, not good enough to finish in the position they finished in last season, not good enough to win unless some lanky donkey is ambling around in midfield fouling people, and not good enough to score goals from open play, the more that will manifest itself in their attitude on the pitch. Confidence cannot be high in the group with this snot nosed Thatcher lover moping about telling them how crap they are and how great he is to get any results out of them on a daily basis.

Hopefully the takeover is done soon and he is handed his matching orders swiftly.

I thought id cut him some slack as the owners clearly didnt fancy him.
I posted last season i think he did what he had to do here. He done the job but we had sheff u & Burnley last year. Thats not his fault but it made life easier. I dont feel thats the case this year. We might not always get away with being his bigger version of burnley football club.
I'd say that camping deep and absorbing pressure is quite a risky strategy these days. Throwing bodies forward is the new parking the bus, and and even the worst teams look like they've got a few goals in them now.

I'll give Dyche credit for last season, but the year before was closer than when Lampard took over from Benitez.

Ipswich and Southampton will both go, but I could easily see us taking that third spot if our luck is out at vital times and Leicester's isn't.

This happened after a series of calamities from Keane, fan pressure, Branthwaite getting promises of first team football when PSV were pushing to sign him.
It took Dyche longer than it should have to put him in, but he did eventually so there's that. Not putting him in now is a 'king joke though.

I’d play any of our midfielders over Doucoure because he’s absolutely rubbish.

Why is Michael Keane keeping Branthwaite out of the team?

I don't think we lost to Southampton because of our defence.

Southampton have scored the least in the league - 7.

Southampton haven't kept a clean sheet this season.

Not surprised it comes against us.

We lost because we couldn't score goals.

As for Branthwaite, can only speculate of course but figure fitness. Or he's trying to keep the spine of a team thats started to get results. That would be a mistake.

I hope it's not wrapping him up because a deal is lined up in a couple of months to sell him.

Harrison had 8, 8, 5 goals for Leeds with 10, 1, 8 assists, mostly LW, 3 and 3 for us mostly RW. He was very effective on the LW getting crosses in at pace and arriving late.
Dom is well known for his heading but we play with inverted wingers mostly and Fullbacks that don't go to the byline or even attempt many deep crosses.
We all know Dom isn't great at finishing 1v1 but there is no way Dyche is playing to his strengths which is headers and tap ins, which both come from the byline for the most part. It's ridiculous we don't do that. It's football 101 at this stage
Myko wouldn't always have to beat a man if he was going on the overlap which is essential when playing with inverting wingers either to distract a defender or offer the option. Dyche doesn't do that because of 6/10 defensively so it is on him we don't score more imo. We didn't lay a glove on Saints. That's embarrassing.

He's managed 24 Prem goals in 146 games mate, and most of them in a Bielsa score one more than you side. Premier League wise, he's lost almost 3x the amount he's won.

He's got a role, but the point is Harrison, McNeil, Doucoure - or any variation you can create in this Everton team isn't very good.

And yes, the way we play kills Calvert-Lewin. Absolutely murders him - but so does having players who can't beat a man, or cross a ball. If you don't have them, what can you do?
