2024/25 Sean Dyche

The season starts in August mate so yes just one full season as has already been said to you he took over with them 4th and finished 6th if you work out the average points per game he got for the rest of the season and use that for the first 6 games that he wasn't there then he would have finished 9th anyway this is off topic now lets just say you've been wrong in like 10 consecutive posts and leave it there.
Yes I got that wrong and deleted it, thought it was just under 3 seasons and not 2. But he’s still responsible for them finishing 6th in 22/23 not like he took over in March
And like I keep pointing out he had 4/5 of his best players sold

They also lost 4/5 of their best players under De zerbi
I know, and I also consider that they overperformed the season before when they got 6th. It's their model. I was pretty astonished they didn't reinvest more into the squad to replace MacAllister, Caicedo going into 3 competitions.

Frustrates me, we cannot use our transfer + to improve the squad.

I'm not fully versed I just did a wiki and social media dive and it seems like he's heavily involved in his clubs sacks managers on impulse, will get into spats with managers ,does like to put money into his clubs for recruitment , i know the belgian fans even though he got the club back to the fist tier were frustrated due to lack of communication on the vision of the club because he was so focused on lyon , loves Brazilian players so if he takes over theyll be an influx of them here, very Roman abromivich without the clout vibe but that's from surface level research
His team in Belgium had 4!!! Managers last season.

Lyon had 3.

Lyon was somewhat understandable, as it's a club that plays European competitions basically every season. 7 points in 12 games and being last is far from
acceptable. Maybe a bit early to sack managers after 4 games into the season, but Grosso got 5 points in 7 games.

I prefer teams like Burnley that don't sack their manager at the first spell, knowing they will fight for relegation and are a small team in the league, especially when u get promoted.

Lads,

I hate to break this to you.

But the players we have are crap.

They were crap before Dyche, and they're still crap.

There's no pace, and a criminal lack of goals/creativity across that final third.

The squad we have dictates pragmatism - a low block, play the margins and get over the line.

We don't like it, but that's the reality. We can blame Michael Keane, and Sean Dyche but it doesn't escape the fact we're turd. Like others, I reckon I could find you both posting that we're definitely down the weeks prior he rocked up. We've not adequately improved the team since.

There's a reason the bookies have us as joint 4th favourite to go down.

There's a reason our form and results have dictated we've been looking at relegation for 3 years. Look at 2022 as a calendar year, and only Southampton earned less points than Everton. Has our squad improved since then?

Only when we sign some ability/pace in the final third would those criticisms carry weight.

As is, we have McNeil, Doucoure and Harrison in the final third, and a striker who wants off. With 0 Premier League assists Mykolenko at left back, and Young at right back - who can blame him?

Until we bring in pace/ability, I expect a manager - as I do in any walk of life - to manage the resources he has. And that, is undoubtedly, trying to make the team hard to beat and nick a goal.

I was fuming with Lampard for style/substance for a long time, and the biggest single criticism I've had of Dyche is how he set us up to go to Chelsea away - we weren't good enough to take the game to them and it showed.
Say it louder, sister! 🙌

I think someone said on here Burnley Mk 2 that's us.
I`ve said that before but it is clear the direction we are going is to being more Burnley than Everton, we won`t get past that with this manager.

Hopefully the new owners have sense and bring their own man in, lets face it which players want to play in a Sean Dyche team? What prospective players are sat watching that on Saturday thinking "I`d love to be involved in that"! Players used to come in to the club because of Lampard, crap manager but he had a pull and could attract players, something this manager doesn`t have.

New manager must have a successful philosophy and a big enough name to attract players.

i agree mate long term he’s not the guy

but we have to earn the right as a club to attract better by being a stable club

so until then…

Is this because of the same type of player he always works with? Would he work different with technically better players? In my opinion there is one constant in our struggles. We have the same players. These players are not good enoug, hence the position we find ourselves in. How do we get a full reset?

Thomas Frank has a bunch of players that I would not consider to be that talented yet he can get them to play decent football in the attacking third , Luton attacked better than us last season , if we had the villa manager I can guarantee that we would be playing a different style and better footy … after 10 years dyche has not tried or changed his approach

“Choosing “ to play doucs as a number 10 when he has other options is 100% down to him . He sets up his team purely with defence in mind and how we operate without the ball … and it seems, he completely ignores the fact that we need to improve when we have it .

This exacerbates our problems becuse if we are skint, we need coach who is capable of improving players and developingour younger players. The state of the club administration means that the only target is to survive in the Prem with no pressure to improve what we have. We also have a so called Director of Footbll, Thelwell, who is seemingly involved in recruitment but not involved in the tactical development for the club or seeking to influence Dyche. If you hold that position, surely the first thing that should be realised is that our football, at first team level is neanderthal and seek to improve on that.

Agreed . If dyche had his way we would be signing prem proven, experienced players to get us through the next season .. and be doing that every summer . At least with the young signings we have a chance to develop and improve them and sell for profit . At least that sounds sustainable , dyche has no 2-5 year plan, he just worries about the next season and conceding as few goals as possible with the aim of getting 40 points

It's gonna be another excuse-flinging interview by him after the game at the weekend. I'm guessing new signings "taking time" and "that's how it is at Everton" statements from him. We're gonna get smashed - I guess after this weekend we'll not once be in + goal difference this season.
