2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

After giving in a few weeks ago and saying he should go, I'm back on the fence. Three pretty solid performances and he's got some breathing space now. Biggest issue is playing DCL week in week out and terrible finishing by the squad in general (except Keane). Not sure Beto is the answer but Chermiti and Broja may well be.

Given City's run of form we should be looking for a win there this week. Forest will be tough though, very much our equals last season, not a world class line-up of players but a team that's fighting amongst the top dogs (for now). Suspect it's a one season wonder and they'll be back to usual next year, but in the meantime we need to sort our finishing because they'll give us a game. Two wins for Dyche this week and he'll be there til the Summer plus manager of the month maybe.
That’s the issue though. We don’t go looking for a win. We will sit compact and try to grind out more nil nil draws. City are there for the taking but we won’t even try living in the hope that a set piece may come off

Yeah he plays the same way against the top sides as against the bottom sides - he’s tactically limited
This is my issue with Sean Dyche, he has only one style of play and it matters not if we are playing a top six side or a bottom six side. He isn’t tactically astute enough to adapt his style to allow us to attack poorer sides, Wolves aside. If we play any other way than all out defence we are vulnerable. If we had an attacking coach and him as defensive coach then maybe we could score a couple and win the odd game. He deserves credit for the recent results but and couple of 0-0 draws shouldn’t cloud the overall judgement of his performance over his season.

Not too far to suggest we should be sitting somewhere near Forest and Bournemouth. And given the points Dyche handed to opponents, fans can rightly accuse of him being very limited.
Yes, at present relying on set pieces for goals and even with that tactic, one main option, aim for Tarkowski at the far post to head back across goal. Opponents must have sussed this out yet seems to be hardly any variation

Mid table team just scraping it out of relegation because of limited manager. Too close to bottom 3 not to worry about a Dyche team going on infamous bad run of results, it's his only guarantee.

I wonder what he’ll do for the cup home game against high flying Peterborough 😂

Have you seen how bad some of these players are on the ball though?

Mangala, McNeil, Garner, and Ndiaye are probably the only players in the entire squad that don't put in a tackle as a 2nd touch.

Gana had 2 "moments" yesterday. Doucs has the technique of a tank. You can go through the whole squad and realise "passing" and "control" isn't any one of their specialist subjects.

City are there for the taking. We'll get chances. It's putting them away that'll be the issue.
