2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Dont think there is anything wrong with playing older players provided they are performing.
Young & Gueye are both doing that for example.

Having a few young players in the side is a great thing (Branthwaite), but it cant be at the expense of actually getting results.
Every manager in the PL will select an older player over a young player provided they are performing

Nah, always pick the best squad available, but I feel sad that someone like Dixon doesn't get a chance. I think he was one of the highlights in our worst game this season against Spurs and should get time like Chermiti at the end of last season.

We will have a big upheaval coming the next 1-2 years and to have a few players from the own academy would be nice, but don't force them to play.

Young is as you said pretty good this season, but getting 40 soon. Seamus is injured all the time, and also getting 36. Patterson, well I still can't judge him entirely, doesn't get a chance.

You cant escape it lol. Driving to my daughters for Xmas they're previewing Brighton v Brentford on the Radio. All i hear is, Brentford away from home are terrible. In fact over the calender year only Everton are worse away from home.
You're not even discussing Everton. Let us enjoy Xmas 😄

Dixon wont make it at us i don't think.

I see him a bit similar to how Anthonee Robinson was at that age, might need to go and play elsewhere for 3/4 years to build himself back up.

I just dont see how, as you say with Coleman & Young approaching 85 and Patterson not reliable as club we put all our faith in a 19 year old kid. There is to much risk in doing that, we are more likely to sign someone, and if we do.....ideally he will be between 24-26 which again would block Dixon for the following 4-5 years, exactly like what happened here when we had Baines approaching the end, Lucas Digne came in.

As you say, would be nice for him to magically rip everyone to bits in training, and get put in there and be awesome. Just its about a 5% chance

Think Armstrong & Chermiti have a better chance though

I do agree, letting Digne go was a terrible decision.. I hope there will be some addings in the summer. We won't have endless money yet, and have many positions to get players and depth.

Hope, we will find a good mix between, loans, clever free transfers and bargains.

Lets face it, this is going exactly as I predicted, we are stuck with Dyche until at least the end of the season maybe even going in to BMD...

All those claiming he would be sacked as soon as TFG got the keys, citing Roma as the evidence, are all wrong as per usual.

This club is an absolute state, if TFG intend on keeping Dyche I`d file them under more of the Moshiri era with more dull and defensive football.

Dyche can`t go quick enough for me, he is holding us back.

So you’ve now invented that he’s getting a new contract I see.

And a happy new year…

Makes no difference to the new owners if we finished 7th or 17th as long we remain a Premier League club. If they wanted to replace him they'd of done it already. Not saying he'll get a new contract but it's not 100% that he won't as some seen to think.
I agree that staying in the Premiership is more important than anything else.
I agree that Sean Dyche is seen as a steady pair of hands who guided us to safety over the last two seasons in the most difficult of circumstances.

However it isn't true to say that other factors are not important... they are.
Even just using the example you quoted , the difference between 7th and 17th is a minimum of twenty million pounds in income. TFG will certainly care about that.
The profile of Everton has to be raised from relegation strugglers to European contenders if they are to attract the type of sponsorship and advertising they will be chasing. That will be the argument in favour of bringing in a high profile manager like Mourinho, as they did with Roma.
The appointment of Mourinho would instantly have people talking about Everton.

On the other hand we know that because of PSR our transfer activity will be restricted. Only the sale of a prized asset can change that. They could also opt for a slow incremental improvement under a tried tested manager(Dyche).

I think the truth is none of us has a clue what is planned. My belief is that Sean Dyche will complete this season but may not get an extended contract for future seasons but really I haven't a clue.

I do think however those who are convinced that Dyche is definitely gone now or in the summer also run a risk of being upset.

Five-year contract extension, salary doubled, and I'm hearing a statue of Frank Lampard will be erected on one of the plinths on front of the stadium.

Why would they sack him after a draw against a very good team??

Apply some logic please thumb.
