2024/25 Sean Dyche

It’s been the same problem since he came here. We do better against teams like Arsenal or Chelsea who want to dominate the ball. He can organise 11 players behind the ball and make us hard to score against. As soon as we come up against a team happy to sit deep themselves and let us have the ball we have no clue how to score. He’s the most one dimensional manager in the league. Even his substitutions just lead to more of the same. It didn’t work hoofing it into the box with one striker, so let’s try hoofing it in the box with 2 strikers. Bread and butter for forests centre backs. Starts 3 centre midfielders who ‘work hard’ but aren’t in any way an attacking threat. He could have started Harrison on the left (where he’s more comfortable) Lindstrom right and Ndiaye number 10 but he won’t dare sacrifice Doucoure because he runs around a lot.

Hi guys, the team have scored a magnificent 15 goals this season despite all the clearly evident attacking passages of play that are coached in to the players that we see each game, but as 4 of those goals were in the wolves game it’s factually correct to say the team have scored 11 goals in 17 games and have failed to score at all in over half of those games.

11 goals in 17 games …

That is San Marino levels of bad, Drink that in.

Just a reminder for those who blame it all on the players and allow Dyche to get away with murder.

Apart from one summer’s worth of activity, with essentially the same squads, we finished 16 points higher than Forest last season (without the deduction) and they are currently 20 points clear of us, Dyche has been with us 2 years, NES has been with Forest for half that time. That’s a swing of 36 points.

I cannot understand the logic in keeping Dyche a moment longer. If TFG have earmarked a new manager, then they should appoint now.
Nuno was brought in by Notts Forest on 20 December last year, to ensure top flight survival, as Steve Coopers side had all but given up. No direction, no idea and no results. He accomplished that. Exactly one year later, they're sitting in second place. I'm not saying they are going to be there come the end of the season, but look what a good manager can do given a January transfer window and time to access his squad for the summer ins and outs.
