2024/25 Sean Dyche

I don't think he will do anything more than keep us safe. But that is the job description until we have new owners.

Everything else is (understandable) delusional wishful thinking.
I agree nothing will change until new ownership
There is however a belief, long held since Big Sam took on the fire fighter pseudonym that survival football is boring backs to the wall football.
It isn't. It's the one that scrapes by in the end that's remembered while the others go down no matter how 'backs to the wall' they were.

Palace shot away from danger last season with an exciting manager change and Gary O'Neill got Wolves fired up and attacking leaving relegation behind early.
It seems to be an entrenched viewpoint that doesn't add up.
The only reason it seemed to work for Big Sam was because coming in late in the season it is easier to set up to defend than work on attacking patterns of play. He was also a boring Dychesque manager though. Dyche has been with us a while now and we still don't see attacking patterns of play. None

I hope the new owners have a positive vision if we ever get them
Imagine Dycheball at that awesome new stadium. It's already cringe worthy

He took Burnley in there, didn't he?

I mean, I know people hate Dyche but it's not like he hasn't got a tiny club into Europe before. Why not a stable, well-run Everton?
He did it once with Burnley almost a decade ago in an exceptionally low point total season for all but the top teams in the league. In that season his team still scored less than 40 goals and finished the season with a negative goal difference. In short it was a freak season that is highly unlikely to ever be repeated. It would be like appointing Claudio Ranieri and saying he should win us the league. Well, he's done it before so why not? Because of all the other evidence, that's why.

We also had a negative goal difference when we finished 4th in 04/05.

Are you for real? I absolutely can pick a time frame when the accusation levelled at me was that my team was a "no mark club" - and I proved it. I don't care what you saw before that. It amazes me I'm explaining it, well, no it doesn't. Fact is you lot last won a league title before we did. Prove me wrong.
What are you doing on another club's fan forum?
Might make sense if it were a rival club
This is a Premier League club's forum

He's lost/losing an ally in me with the keane thing. And to an extent doucoure. But the keane thing. We can all have opinions on the individuals at the back but they've all been part of a collective group who have kept goals out. Except one. Keane. When he plays Everton are a disaster at the back. Yet he's gone to him again. Stubborn, stupidity, who knows. Everyone knows whats coning when keane is the the backline. Everyone except dyche.
Maybe there was a reason nobody touched him when he was out of a job for a year when burnley sacked him. To stuck in his ways.

Can someone remind me why we sacked Marco Silva again please?
He's the last manager we've had with a positive goal difference
Were we so hard to please back then?

I would love it if we played like Fulham do now

Loses 5-2
