2024/25 Sean Dyche

+1

A team should not be conceeding 3 goals in under 9 minutes.

Soon as they got a goal back thats when you want one of our players on the floor calling for the physio. Give the lads a breather & kill the momentum Bournemouth were building.

Have a few players take bookings etc.

EFC have struggled with the dark arts under every manager since and including Wee Davey.

The manager should take criticism for not freshening up the midfield with fresh legs, but there should be no excusing a complete switch off from Pickford, Keane, Myko & Coleman.
It’s the managers job to read the game and make the appropriate changes, it’s not the players responsibility to decide when they should be substituted.
Again , in game management has been a consistent and ever present weakness throughout his career.
Yesterday that weakness and poor judgement squandered a commanding position and 3points .
Unbelievable example of poor management.

this defeat was down to the players not the manager
sadly was the players that had played well to that point
myko for 1st not clearing tim for 2nd not tracking runner from mid field 3rd myko again
was good exciting attacking football to then not with dyche this one
Bournemouth made 5 subs which completely changed the game , Dyche brought on Doucouré and Beto which made us look bloody worse

Think it’s a not so subtle dig at the fans, but where I was in the TB, there was no nervousness, just anger and lots of shouts for bringing legs on in the middle and defence.

If he could see/smell what we could on the pitch why didn’t he react?

Because he's risk averse, or rather he's putting himself as the one who takes the risk visibly averse.

If he changes things and what happened happened every media will focus on those changes and he can't avoid the blame. If he sits their passively then he can blame the players or the smell in the atmosphere etc.

Basically it's a cowardly way to manage as you're putting yourself before the result.

No doubt his solution to yesterday's capitulation will be a daily bleep test and flogging over the international break, expect more injuries to "suddenly" appear at the next presser

Normally a manager is either proactive or reactive mate, Dyche is a rare breed which is Inactive.

Bournemouth were awful, but that little Dracula looking fella they’ve got just totally changed his gameplan and players, saw it wasn’t working for them and thought let’s have a go.

Dyche froze and did not react to their changes or our players visibly tiring, criminal management from him, and he was totally let down by cowardly experienced premier league footballers unable to manage and see out a football match - a dreadful combination.

This is a very fine summary of yesterday's events Nathdogg.

Dyches weakness has always been the substitutions / in game management. However, fans calling for change on this basis fail to understand that every manager outside of the top brass who would not entertain managing EFC have weaknesses that will both wind up the fanbase over time, and cost us 3 points on occasions over the course of their tenure.

Martinez had them, Koeman had them, Silva had them, Alladyce had them. Moyes who was fantastic for us ensured we bottled every big game due to being stuck in his ways, much to many fans anger. We won't touch on Tory Lampard who had more weaknesses than strengths.

Dyche will not be getting sacked, the fans have a right to be frustrated with games like yesterday however there needs to be calm heads and context applied regarding the clubs situation. You have shouts for managers like Tuchel & Glasner to replace him. Delusional !!

I was surprised he was not even making subs at half time as the first half Everton was the better team and should have been up... Bournemouth looked like the usual Everton.

We are paying £5m for a substandard product.
That amount should be able to buy a manager who can manage a game .
Let’s not pretend we are paying championship level wages , despite employing a manager best suited to that level.
